Bayshore Tea Party Wants Bennett To Change The By-Laws
Still won’t reveal their primary candidates names
Bayshore Tea Party co-founder Bob Gordon told MoreMonmouthMusings that he would recommend that the groups’s candidates for the Legislature from the 13th district, sheriff and freeholder not file as candidates in the June 4 Republican primary if GOP Chairman John Bennett would allow the candidates onto the March 23 County Convention ballot without having to submit the signatures required under the new by-laws to challenge incumbents. He would not guarantee that the so far unnamed challengers would abide by the results of the convention and not file for the primary if they lose in Colts Neck on the 23rd. “That would be up to the candidates,” he said.
Gordan said that county committee members inclined to support the Tea Party challengers are reluctant to sign convention petitions for fear that they will be challenged in the next committee election in 2014.
The deadline to submit petitions for the convention ballot passed last week. Primary petitions are due on April 1.
Neither Gordon nor fellow co-founder Barbara Gonzalez would name the potential challengers. Gordon said that there is a full slate of candidates to take on Senator Joe Kyrillos and Assembly Members Amy Handlin and Declan O’Scanlon in the 13th district. On the county level, Sheriff Shaun Golden faces a challenge while Freeholder Director Tom Arnone and Deputy Director Serena DiMaso may only have one challenger, if the candidates file.
Whatsoever thou sow that is what thou shall reap
This is a play for attention by the BSTP, in an attempt to give the appearance of continued relevance. Plain and simple.
They continue to want their cake and eat it too but getting on to the ballot at the convention without proper signatures and then not promising to avoid a primary fight.
“Neither Gordon nor fellow co-founder Barbara Gonzalez would name the potential challengers.”
What, are these unnamed conspirators afraid of exorcism just like the unnamed county committee people afraid of being challenged?
Just who do these prima donna’s think they are?
To obtain 25 signature each and send the Chair a letter of intent, then, according to the by-laws everyone wanted and the county committee approved, they would have been voted upon on the 23rd: it seems time to fish of cut bait: either you are Republicans who will work through the system to effectuate the changes you seek, or you are relegating yourselves to a minimal third party, with much less chance of success. Time to choose and go forward. It’ll be hard to find you at the far end of a third party column in June, one would suspect.
I think in NJ if you primary someone you cannot turn around and go independent since the deadline for submission of petitions for third party access is the day of the primary.
I’m confused, doesn’t the Tea Party stand for less spending and lower taxes? So what part of the 0% tax increase and nearly $8 million the County Freeholders cut from this year’s budget and got 2013 spending DOWN to 2008 spending levels?
It just goes to show that they want things 100% there way and don’t want to hear alternatives. Bennett should amend the by-laws, and kick that crazy wacko Babs off the Board of Directors. Even if Bennett allowed the Tea Party’s “top secrete candidates” to be on the ballot at the convention, and they loose, I would bet you everything, they will still run. Its funny how Joe Kyrillos was the best Senator there was when he was paying their rent when they were on Route 35.
This organization has turned into the biggest joke in Monmouth County. Bennett would do the party a great service by kicking Babs off the Board of Directors and have his local chairmen and chairwomen in the county replace EVERY single Tea Party County Committee persons. Let them form their own party; they are Ralph Nader can make a career of running candidates that will NEVER amount to anything.
for such an irrelevant group they are getting a lot of attention here. What gives? Is the Bayshore Tea Party Group really irrelevant or are the people who comment here incredibly jealous?
Political history will be made in June when a GOP primary slate headed by candidate for Governor Seth Grossman, supported by the Bayshore Tea Party Patriots and the American Tea Party Congress, sweeps Monmouth County, including candidates for State Legislature, Freeholder and Sheriff. An even bigger jolt will hit when the Republican nominee for Governor, Seth Grossman announces his choice for Lieutenant-Governor; Anna Little.
I thought Grossman will pick the only Lt Gov that can boost the ticket – Joe Rullo, and together they’ll deliver the Senate seat to Anna Little next year

Jealous??? HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA
ROFLAO BIG TIME
No honey, we are just tired of Bab’s histrionics, hissy fits, narcissim, back stabbing and attempts to make herself seem relevant. She has NO record of wins, picks losers and keeps on wanting to be the center of attention.
@Grandmaster Fool.
Grossman? He’s another joke, doesn’t know how to speak to people and makes snide remarks. That’ll get him far. So, another loser for the BSTP leamings.
Change the BSTP leadership and I might begin to have respect for them.
The @Wow doth protest too much, methinks.
Whatever honey. The BSTP is an irrelevant, grasping at straws group and time will show just how flacid they are.
Bennett threw them a lifeline by allowing Babs on the Board of Directors and now she’s gone completely bonkers biting the hand that feeds her.
I see you are still protesting sugar.
