Zipprich and McMillian To Challenge Angelini and Casagrande in LD 11
Red Bank Councilman Ed Zipprich and Neptune Committeeman Kevin McMillian prevailed over NJEA leader Will Potter in a three way race for two Democratic Assembly nominations in the 11th legislative district, according to our spy in Asbury Park who doesn’t want to be known for reporting for a Republican blog.
The vote tally of the only contested race of the Monmouth Democratic convention was not announced, but our source said it wasn’t close.
Assuming there are no primary upsets, Zipprich and McMillian will face incumbent Republican Assemblywomen Caroline Casagrande and Mary Pat Angelini in the November 5 general election.
Milque Toast Candidate, no fire and no match for any of the Republicans. Vin is really digging into the bottom of the barrel.
For McMillan & Brantley, these are just resume enhancements saying that “I ran.”
my guess is the incumbents prevail, however, the challengers are from two urban towns that wacked us pretty badly last, Presidential year, so not as bad strategically for them,as in the past.
that the Neptune municipal chairman Don Beekman will have lots of influence on how the GOP candidates handle this opposition. After all, Mr. Beekman has been heavily involved over the past six years locally. Granted they are all loses but six in a row of anything is impressive, right?
Of Don and his team over many more than 6 years, the demographics are simply against the GOP,in increasing numbers. We can lose that town 3,4,5 to one or more,on any given year, so, that means harder work looking for votes to make up for all of that, elsewhere. not an easy district, and worse, since the last re- districting-it’s just fact.
Living in Red Bank I have seen Zipprich’s hypocrisy and very liberal philosophy at work. Multiple occasions he has voted to deny a permit for St. Anthony’s to have their annual pro-life march (ie right to a peaceful protest) citing the church is against women’s rights issues. And at one point expressing fear of safety, comparing the protestors to the deranged guy that shot Gabby Giffords. Hope the repubs can have fun with this one.
What influence? They haven’t even shown up in past races!
Zipprich seems to me to be a liberal loon. He is a “twitter podiumist” and nothing more.
Sorry, I didn’t pick up on the sarcasm lol
