Guadagno’s status as Christie’s running mate not yet determined
Governor Chris Christie said that he has yet to talk to Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno regarding her joining his ticket for reelection.
During a press conference this morning, Christie said that he was extraordinary pleased with Guadagno’s performance as New Jersey’s first Lt. Governor.
Christie announced that he will run for reelection on Monday in Port Monmouth. Today he said that he and Guadagno had not talked about her candidacy yet because they have been busy working on the recovery from Superstorm Sandy.
Guadagno, who also serves as Secretary of State, has served as the Christie Administration’s ambassador to the business community and heads up the Red Tape Review Commission.
While Guadagno has gotten high marks for her service as Lt. Governor, she has been dogged by allegations and litigation brought by NJ Watchdog that while Monmouth County Sheriff she inappropriately classified Michael Donovan’s position with the sheriff’s office as “chief warrant officer” when he actually held the position of “chief of the law enforcement division” so that Donovan could collect a $85,000 per year pension while also collecting his current salary. Had Donovan’s position been properly classified, according to NJ Watchdog, he would not have been entitled to collect the pension. Rather, he would be contributing $18,000 per year to the pension fund.
She—a double/triple??? dipper—and her double/triple dealing husband and friends ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM—-the State is broke, taxpayers are fleeing—and these nitwits pad their pensions at our expense-SMH
NJ needs her like a fish needs a bicycle
How is she a triple or even a double dipper?
@TR She is not. It is easy to throw baseless allegations anonymously through a website.
@Brian…..where is the LG double dipping? At an icecream store? She doesn’t even have a pension. Wait…I just saw a fish riding by on a bicycle.
She has 3 jobs and gets paid for 1! Lt. Gov, Secretary of State and was put in charge of Econonmic Development. 3 jobs and paid for 1 – I guess we know how you feel about women in the work place.
Her husband is a judge – 1 job.
Good job Brian – you know your Democratic Party Math – 1+1=3 or more.
Where were you when Ex-Freeholder, Ex-State Senator, Ex-Judge and Ex-Parole Board John D’Amico returned to the Freeholder Board?
Too much baggage for the governor. He should dump her since he ran on a platform to clean the pension mess in this state. She is part of the problem; not the solution. Please governor, get another partner.

I earned my multiple pensions. I “served” at least 6 months in each of my jobs. I’m better than all of you. I went to Harvard, I’m smarter.
“Flippy” as you call him was entitled to the various pensions he is receiving. No fraud or deception on his part. The Watchdog investigation has shown a pattern of deceptions that enabled a high-ranking sheriff’s officer the ability to skirt pension laws by receiving a pension and simultaneously receiving a paycheck–in clear violation of pension rules.
So what does Sheriff Golden do? Well first of all he never said anything about it—not even that it was wrong or unethical. He places this officer in another job–with a raise no less–to permit the double dipping. Shame on you Golden!!!
Wait I thought you talking about Guadagno not Golden.
Who is this “Watchdog”? What are their qualifications other then being a mouthpiece for the Democratic Party.
Where are the Subpoenas and indictments. Heck its been for years! Were is the US Attorney? Where is Eric Holder? That’s right he has his own legal problems (you remember – giving guns to drug dealers to kill our cops).
Flippy could have fixed this pension issue when he was a Senator but that would have required him to remove his snout from the trough.
Subpoena’s, indictments, etc… How could there be any with all the conflicts in this case.
The case was referred to the Attorney General’s Division of Criminal Justice. However, the DCJ investigation is riddled with potential conflicts of interest:
Guadagno is DCJ’s former deputy director. She held the post from 1998 to 2001.
Nearly two dozen DCJ investigators and supervisors are “double-dippers” who collect state paychecks and pensions.
Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa, a Christie appointee, is ultimately in charge of the probe of fellow cabinet member Guadagno. Chiesa is also former chief counsel to Christie. Lets not forget the county prosecutor who was also appointed by the governor.
This is all about Guadagno; however this forced Golden’s hand:

So if Watchdog is a mouthpiece for the democratic party, are you saying all the evidence neatly set forth in these investigative reportings are wrong?? Well, why not call for a special prosecutor to prove or disprove these notions? Why did Golden move over Donovan to an “Undersheriff” position? Why has Golden been silent on this whole matter?? Why has Guadagno refused to talk to MMM on this matter??
Many questions; little answers.
Well if you thing there is a conflict then you should call on the feds.
When the McGreevy, Codey and Corzine Administrations turned their back on real corruption – the US Attorney stepped up and cleaned house. Maybe you heard of him.
Many questions from democrats – lots of political answers
Again, lets call for an independent Prosecutor. That’s all. Oh by the way, if all these accusations are in error by Watchdog, where’s the libel lawsuits??? Hmmmmmm.
Libel suits? Seriously? Why would anyone waste time or money trying to prove the allegations wrong, when no one except Watchdog seems to believe them? And isn’t the purpose of a libel suit to collect monetary damages? Who would pay those? The one or two unemployed jerks who have nothing else to do but spew such gargbage? Come on…
