Christie still on Romney’s short list
Governor Chris Christie is still on Mitt Romney’s VP short list, if we can believe FoxNew’s extrapolation from a list of speakers announced for the Republican National Convention.
Fox speculates that it is “safe to say” that the vice presidential candidate will not be one of the headline speakers announced by the Romney campaign. South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez, Florida Gov. Rick Scott, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Arizona Sen. John McCain, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, are those speakers.
That leaves Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Ohio Sen. Rob Portman, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal for Romney to choose from for VP and the keynote speaker.
New short list same as the old short list, with the exception of Rice and Bush trading places.
One man’s definition of short is another’s of Which Way to Go George? Which Way to Go?
thinkin.
Just think if the bull shovel ready, economic stimuli associated, bridge and tunnel patch bills, were as long as the short list for Veep (how can you call any list with the BMOC from New Jersey on it, short?)
A list as short as this one for real substantive activity from our assembled potentates, would be much easier to handle, just put a bandanna over his eyes and let him pin a tail on those donkey’s.
I think the race is close enough, the debate dull enough and the outcome as negative for action regardless of who wins that both parties should skip to the chase.
For VP- Republican Party- Barbara Bush,
she has all the positives of name recognition and none of the negatives of actually being held responsible for the actions of her son.
For VP- Democratic Party- Michael Jackson’s kids Grandmother- sorry can’t recall her name right now-
She would balance the ticket and provide multiple opportunities for a series of debates on the issue and topics of the day that affect all Grandmother’s.
Oh Shoot, Do Over, Do over, on that Democratic suggestions for VP. I forgot they are the incumbents and already have a VP.
But, its not as bad a gaffe as it might first appear. That Joe Biden is a talker and I am sure if asked he could hold his own in a discussion about issues that affect our grandmother’s today.
Of the non speakers, I would consider:
Pawlenty, Portman, Jeb Bush & Jindel.
I don’t know much about Ayotte. Would pass on Ryan, Rubio, McDonnell & Christie.
