First responders rescue man trapped on Deal Lake bulkhead
Deal police officers and first responders from the Allenhurst and Asbury Park Fire Departments worked together to rescue a 66 year old man whose leg was caught on the bulkhead of Deal Lake in Interlaken on Friday afternoon.
Sgt Brian Egan of the Deal Police Department responded to the area of Edgemont Drive and Norwood Ave at about 3:30 on Friday afternoon to discover the man hanging from the bulkhead with his left leg trapped, according to a nixle alert. The Allenhurst and Asbury Fire Departments were immediately dispatched.
Upon arrival of additional units, Lt Matt Sharin entered the lake to support the victims head while Asbury Park Firefighters deployed ladders and other equipment to remove the subject. Deal Officers and Asbury Firefighters were able to remove the man without incident.
Once removed the subject was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center for evaluation.
No injuries to any responders were reported.
