Schmid wins Monmouth Dems endorsement in CD-4
Stephanie Schmid won the Monmouth County Democrats endorsement in the upcoming primary, currently scheduled for June 2, for the nomination to challenge Congressman Chris Smith in November.
According to a Democrat familiar with the the ongoing vote count, Schmid’s margin over her opponents, holistic business coach Christine Marie Conforti and publisher David Applefield, is insurmountable.
Conforti beat Schmid in the Mercer County Democrat convention and Schmid narrowly won the Ocean County Democrat convention.
Conforti and Applefield have threaten legal action to require Ocean County to hold an “open primary,” according to New Jersey Globe.
