Maldjian’s attorney: “There was no corona party”
John P. Maldjian, the Rumson man charged with reckless endangerment and other charges related to violating Governor Phil Murphy’s social distancing orders, has hired one of New Jersey’s top criminal defense attorneys to defend him against the disorderly persons charges filed by the Rumson Police.
In a statement on Maldjian’s behalf, Mitchell J. Ansell of Ansell Grimm and Aaron, said that his client intended his Pink Floyd performance was intended to be a facebook live event only, that he stopped playing his guitar as soon as the police showed up, and he has no knowledge of the vulgarities his audience allegedly hurled at the police.
Ansell told MMM that he intends to enter a Not Guilty plea on behalf of his client. Ansell’s statement can be viewed below.
Revised-Statement
Sorry, it was on his front porch. The ENTIRE CAST OF HAMILTON sang a song from inside their house. He may have done this for FB, but this a pretty weak defense. And his “we’re so Rumson special we need to get out because it’s so hard for us” neighbors … I know cops in Rumson that confirmed… are total entitled, vile dirtballs for what they said.
