Amoroso Fights Back Against Dirty Filthy Democrats
The dirty filthy Democrat PAC that is protecting its investment in LD 11 Assembly Members Eric Houghtaling and Joann Downey woke Michael Amoroso out of his summer slumber.
The Freehold Board of Education President who is one of the GOP candidates challenging the General Majority PAC’s obedient legislators is fighting mad about the deceptive mailer the Dems sent out last week accusing Amoroso of raising taxes 22% this year.
Amoroso wrote on facebook:
I became Board President this past January 2019. We (the 9 member board) only passed one budget this year. In it, property taxes went down $91 per $400,000 in assessment. How did I raise taxes 22% in only a few months? It is simply fake news and lies. They know I am going to win and are very worried.
A Super PAC with close ties to corrupt Camden political bosses lied about my record as Freehold Twp. School Board President. Its not surprising that they are spreading misinformation about my record to cover up the failures of their cronies, Eric Houghtaling and Joann Downey.
The fact is Houghtaling raised taxes almost 17 percent during his time on Neptune Twp. Council and increased spending 10 percent. But that wasn’t enough, he also gave himself two pay increases.
When Houghtaling teamed up with Downey in Trenton they voted to increase the state budget 12 percent in just two years! When they had the chance to stand up to $25 million in school funding cuts to our schools they chose the same special interests funding these attacks, causing our property taxes to rise even more.
I am tired of entrenched politicians and their corrupt cronies using scare tactics to divide our state and our community. Whether you are a Democrat, Republican or Independent I hope you will seek out the truth and support Amoroso and Woolley this November as we work to bring common-sense back to Trenton and work for YOU, not corrupt political bosses.
He continued a few minutes later:
The General Majority PAC is spending to protect their investment in Assembly Members Eric Houghtaling and Joann Downey. They must have polling data showing Houghtaling and Downey vulnerable without Sen Vin Gopal’s coattails.
The PAC, which is associated with South Jersey power broker George Norcross, bought the Assembly seats for Houghtaling and Downey in 2015 by spending millions on TV ads that depicted former Assemblywoman Mary Pat Angelini as a crook because she gets paid as the CEO of a non-profit that fights to prevent drug addition. Dirty, dirty, filthy Democrats.
The legal disclaimer asserts that the candidates nor committee affiliated with them authorized, approved or asked for the mailer to be sent. That’s about the only truth in the piece that tells the targeted swing voters “Don’t Be Fooled.” It’s true because Houghtaling and Downey don’t authorize or approve anything at all. They do what they are told by staffers who are told what tell them by Gopal and legislative leaders who are told what to do by Norcross. That’s how it works.
Houghtaling and Downey did not cooperate with General Majority PAC on this mailer, they just happened to be frumping down the Asbury Park boardwalk together when the PAC’s photographer spotted them.
