The Colts Neck Lions are thrilled to be able to assist the National Beep Baseball Association with their upcoming tournament that will be played right in our backyard at Dorbrook Recreation Area on July 14th. We invite the community to come out and support BEEP Baseball, the games will be played at 8:45am, 11:00am and 1:00pm. The National Beep Baseball Association is an organization committed to fostering competition and camaraderie through the game of beep baseball for the blind and visually impaired.
Since purchasing an advanced imaging camera that has been used to screen students for early detection of eye issues earlier this year. The Colts Neck Lions Club has visited 9 schools in the State and screened over 1200 children ages 18 months to early elementary school. During these screenings we have been able to give out over 140 referrals for families to bring to their optometrist. The goal is to reduce global blindness and build comprehensive and sustainable eye care systems that deliver eye care services, build or strengthen eye care facilities, train professionals and build awareness about eye health in under-served communities. Please do not hesitate to the league if you would like us to visit your school.
The Colts Neck Lions Club has 55 members and meets on the first Monday of the month at 7 pm at Huddy’s Inn in Colts Neck, NJ. Lions clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
