YOUNG DEMOCRATS AND REPUBLICANS JOIN FORCES FOR SHORE PROTECTION
Sandy Hook, NJ—The Jersey Shore Partnership Foundation (Partnership) will kick off its 22nd Annual Summer Celebration on Monday, June 10, 2019 at Fort Hancock, Sandy Hook from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m. The Monmouth County Young Democrats and Republicans are heading up the Summer Celebration Young Professionals Committee, bringing together business associates ages 21-35 to support the Partnership’s mission to ensure that our 127 mile beachfront from Sandy Hook to Cape May is preserved and protected.
Committee chairs are Kinn Badger, Executive Director, Monmouth County Democrats, and Jason Sena, Esq., an associate with Cutolo Barros LLC and Treasurer of the Monmouth County Young Republicans. Kinn states, “It is important to get young professionals involved in the environmental concerns facing our coast in light of sea level rise, climate change, and the prospect of increased storms that all cause beach erosion and infrastructure damage.” Jason commented, “Preserving our coastline is vital to our local economy and is an issue that we can all get behind. Kinn and I are pleased with the tremendous support we have received from our members.”
The huge open-tent event features shore restaurants’ favorite cuisines and seafood donated by coastal fisheries. Live music by Brian Kirk and the Jirks keeps the party lively for the 400 guests. The Summer Celebration attracts corporations, businesses, environmentalists, not-for-profits and other shore loving people that support the need to protect our beaches and fragile coastline.
The highlight of the evening is an awards program honoring outstanding individuals/organizations that support the Partnership’s mission to preserve and protect our coastline and contribute to the economy and the quality of life at the Jersey Shore and the entire State. This year’s Dinner Chair is Mitch Livingston, President and CEO, NJM Insurance Group and a major sponsor of the event.
The Partnership will honor former NJ State Senator Joseph Kyrillos and Susan Kyrillos with the Tom Gagliano Jersey Shore Leadership award; the Bayshore/Montecalvo Family of Companies for environmental sustainability and energy conservation; PNC Bank for corporate excellence in service to New Jersey; and Weeks Marine, for its century of service in the maritime industry.
Grace Hanlon, Event Chair and Partnership Board member commented, “Our shore communities generate an annual $20 billion tourism economy. The Summer Celebration is a strong reminder of our responsibility to protect our coast, our most valuable environmental and economic asset.”
Young professionals, ages 21-35, have a special ticket price of $75. Regular priced tickets are $120 per person. Tickets can be purchased through PayPal and the Partnership website under Summer Celebration. Sponsorships also are available. For information, contact Barbara Hindman at [email protected].
In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled to Tuesday, June 11, 2019.
