Gopal Endorses Dr. Margie Donlon For Ocean Township Council

Senator Vin Gopal has issued his only endorsement in the Ocean Township municipal election for Dr. Margie Donlon.

The senator shared an advance copy of his endorsement letter with MMM. Ocean voters can expect to receive the letter in the mail tomorrow and Saturday.

Margie Donlon Endorsement Letter

“I have known Margie for years,” Gopal said he a phone interview this afternoon. “She really cares about Ocean Township and the issues impacting the town.  I am confident she will be a great public servant.”

Gopal declined to take the bait when asked why he was only endorsing one candidate when voters are charged with electing five members of the council.  “There are other good people running, some of whom I like a lot.  I am endorsing Margie,” he said.

Ocean Township is electing its entire governing body, five council members who will select a mayor, on Tuesday, May 15.  It is a non-partisan election.

Need to check his Elec reports to see how much he has to throw around, and where it’s from. Of course some Republicans would think he might not be trustworthy or is insincere. But how will the Independents break, and will he generate heavy Dem turnout, like last go-round, with all the feigned “everywhere” appearances and helpful concern? Time will tell, but I beg those in-charge to be ahead of issues that could be turned on us, and be prepared, like “good scouts!”
