Middletown man arrested for attempted murder of 81 year old female
Thomas Hannigan, 52 of Shadow Lake Village in the River Plaza section of Middletown Township, was arrested and charged with the Aggravated Assault and Attempted Murder of an 81 year old woman who was found at the scene with serious injuries when Middletown Police Offices responded to a report of an assault at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday, according to an announcement by Det. Lt. Paul Bailey.
The domestic violence victim, who police are not identifying, was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune for treatment.
The suspect is in the custody of the Monmouth County Correctional Institution pending the outcome of a court appearance.
Middletown Twp. Police advise that this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
