A Golden Night in January
The 2019 Monmouth County social and political season kicked off on Friday as over 900 of Shaun Golden’s family and friends from the law enforcement, government and political communities throughout the State of New Jersey showed up at Eagle Oaks Golf and County Club in Howell on Friday night to celebrate the Sheriff/Chairman’s 8th Annual Starry Night Winter Gala.
Freeholder Director Tom Arnone, the emcee of the event, asked the capacity crowd to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, a remembrance of the fallen, specifically Pfc. Jamie Reily of Fair Haven who was killed in a training accident at Fort Bliss in New Mexico on Tuesday, and prayer led by Msgr. Philip Lowery of St.James Parish in Red Bank. The crowd stayed standing for Golden as he thanked his family and friends for their past contributions and their ongoing support.
“It’s great to see this level of enthusiasm,” said Senator Declan O’Scanlon. “Shaun has earned our support as an outstanding Sheriff and an inspirational leader of our Party.”
“Shaun Golden is without question one of the best Sheriffs in the country. He is nationally recognized as such for his work on 9-1-1 responsiveness,” said Congressman Chris Smith. “Like Shaun, tonight’s event is an extraordinary success. It is a honor to be here to support him.”
