Central Jersey Blood Bank To Close At Year’s End

Central Jersey Blood Center announced today that it will cease operations on December 31, 2018.

In an email to blood donors, the organization said:

It is with deep regret that we are writing to you today, to inform you, that the Central Jersey Blood Center will cease operations as of December 31^st, 2018. As a highly regarded blood donor, we are asking for your continued support. Hospitals and local blood centers across the country, are merging or joining forces with larger entities to remain in business. As the last “mom and pop shop” of blood centers in New Jersey, it has become impossible for us to survive alone in this environment.

Central Jersey Blood Center has been serving New Jersey residents for almost 55 years. Saving lives every day in our community by treating premature babies, burn and trauma victims, patients suffering from leukemia, cardiac disease, and many other conditions that depend on blood products for recovery. This has all been possible because of YOU.

We cannot thank you enough for the love and support you have shown. CJBC appreciates and is truly grateful for every blood donation we have received over the past 55 years. We will be supporting the local hospitals until the last day of operation. Your donations are needed and we look forward to seeing you at one of our local centers over the next 6 weeks.

Together, we all embody the heart and spirit of the Central New Jersey community. The CJBC legacy will live on in the hearts and veins of many.
