On the Passing of Senator McCain
By Congressman Chris Smith
Senator John McCain was an extraordinarily brave and noble man—a hero—a dedicated husband, father, fighter pilot, and an amazing lawmaker. He endured and overcame unspeakable horrors as a POW, and as a lawmaker never ceased working for members of our armed forces and veterans. And on matters of principle and conviction, Senator McCain was fiercely independent, always willing—even eager—to bend into the wind and not with it.
My wife Marie and I will always cherish and deeply respect the incomparable Senator John McCain. Our prayers go out to his Cindy and his entire family.
Congressman, and agree he was a war hero and good example for youth, in many ways.. however, it appears today that all one has to do is die, and all their human imperfections are forgotten: I was at his convention, and campaigned hard for him and Palin: remember, the media and opposition did everything they could to demonize them both, and succeeded, for Clinton, then for Obama. Twice. And are today he’ll- bent on taking Trump out.. Am sorry for his illness and death: but unfortunately, I believe he was jealous of the president for making it,while he did not-( he did not run a great campaign- ) and, he was not helpful at all, as many Republicans have not been, in pressing forward with the agenda the people want. We are all flawed human beings, and while the man accomplished a lot, he was, as we all are, not so perfect, either.. Truth hurts, we thank him for his service, R.I.P…
