Sheriff Shaun Golden Warns of IRS Scam

Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden issued the following warning to residents this afternoon.

Sheriff Golden said that his agency does not collect IRS debts and that residents should hang up on threatening phone calls from scammers attempting to steal money. Such calls should be reported to the Treasury Department’s Inspector General’s hotline.
