that school boards are afraid of being called bullies, of “intruding” on families, of being sued at the drop of a hat. It goes back to people afraid of getting involved, looking the other way, and hoping nothing bad goes down. We spend a lot on social workers, counselors, lawyers- yet, when it comes time to coordinate and actually be firm, not accept bad behaviors, and remove the bad actors, they fail. Are we not sick of having to accept and deal with people with severe problems, being forced among us?
Look at once- beautiful San Francisco: liberal leaders have permitted so many mentally- ill people to run free, camp on streets, shoot up drugs and defecate in public, and nearly destroy that city. When do we wake up?
Whatever one’s position on various aspects of guns, we have to get honest, about how lax we have become on how many “chances” are given, how poor the punishments are for bad behaviors, and how little real help and solutions are offered. Unless and until both sides of this issue get together, and find much better security means to protect our kids in schools everywhere, and all our general, law- abiding and taxpaying citizens, we will continue to suffer and deteriorate as a society, at the hands of maniacs.
