Monmouth GOP Sweeps

Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden, Surrogate Rosemarie Peters, Freeholder Director Tom Arnone and Freeholder Deputy Director Serena DiMaso have been reelected.

Monmouth Democrat Chairman Vin Gopal conceded to Golden who is the GOP County Chairman, via text message.

With 456 of 458 voting districts reporting and approximately 4000 vote-by-mail and provisional ballots to be counted, Golden is defeating Marlboro Councilman Jeff Cantor 144,190 to 112,264.

Peters is defeating Vincent Solomeno 145,516 to 105,947

Arnone has 139,892 votes; DiMaso 134,598. Democrats Matt Doherty, the mayor of Belmar has 114,545 votes and Sue Fulton of Asbury Park has 113,580.

Doherty lost in Belmar. Arnone got 1351 votes in the borough, DiMaso 1250, Doherty 1167 and Fulton 1058.
