Project Homeless Connect & Point in Time – Volunteers Needed
Both bilingual and those who are not Bilingual
Calling all volunteers – both bilingual and those who are not bilingual –
we are gearing up for the Point in Time and Project Homeless Connect
in Monmouth County which will take place on Wednesday, January 28th, 2015. We anticipate being in Asbury Park and Red Bank as well as in several soup kitchens/pantries this year.
We are in need of volunteers, both bilingual and those who are not bilingual to assist Monmouth County in the one day Point in Time count of the homeless. In conjunction with this, Project Homeless Connect will attempt to link homeless individuals and families with housing and other services in order to help them break the cycle of homelessness. This year we are letting the local communities
take the lead with the Project Homeless Connect (PHC) sites, they will determine what services are being provided as well as “giveaways” such as warm clothing and toiletries. The county is focusing its resources on the actual Point in Time Count survey which is a little bit different this year. The survey will be asking where did you sleep on the night of Tuesday, January 27th, but we can administer the survey for a full week. This gives us a broader time spectrum to go out and look for those who are living unsheltered in our communities.
We are looking for bilingual volunteers who speak Spanish, Portuguese or Creole to assist us that day for a few hours. If you are willing to volunteer for this very important event, please fill out the attached form and return it to Judith Diaz at [email protected] or fax it to 732-845-2054.
We will contact you with a confirmation of site at a later date
We are also looking for volunteers to help with the setup at the warehouse in Freehold sorting coats on Monday, January 26th from 10 a.m. – 12:00 pm. If you could offer any assistance with this too, please indicate this on the Volunteer Form.
If you have any questions, please contact Judith Diaz at 732-683-2174 or
