Pallone Prevails Against Pelosi Backed Eshoo

The Monkey Court (MMM Watermark) GIFCongressman Frank Pallone was elected ranking Democratic member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee this morning in a 100-90 vote by the entire Democratic Caucus, according to Roll Call.

He defeated California Congresswoman Anna Eshoo, who had been backed for the post by Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Both Eshoo and Pallone downplayed speculation that the result was a result of Democratic discontent with Pelosi who was reelected Minority Leader yesterday.

But fellow New Jersey Congressman Bill Pascrell is quoted indicated that Pelosi overdid it in support of her friend and fellow Californian:

“One can make the argument that she overdid it,” Pascrell said. “One may make the argument that she overdid in terms of the letter she sent out, on the other hand, she had every right to do it — she didn’t break any laws.”

    A) Bad news for Pelosi’s leadership no matter what Pascrell says.

    B) IMHO, this will be the highest office ever achieved for Pallone, but meaningless since Republicans will be in power.

Hopefully Pallone will get a taste of what it’s like to be in that position and not having your ideas considered such as with the Obamacarefraud bill he co-authored.

Perhaps in his new and powerful position, Monmouth County should be offering ideas to Congressman Pallone to provide affordable energy and robust commerce.

Let’s start with enticing a fortune 500 company set up shop at Ft. Monmouth.

I am sure when Congressman Pallone woke up this morning in his house in Maryland he thought “hey what can I do to help my constituents”. Maybe now I can fill the shoes of James Howard.

By the way, like many small local businesses, our family business lost our health care policy due to Obamacare twice in one year. I was at an event and ran into Congressman Pallone and voiced my concern for the increase in premium, the higher deductibles and the loss of our network doctors.

He acted like my complaint was the first he had ever received on the subject. Then he said “Mike you and Andrea (my wife) are pretty smart, you will do well on the exchange”
