Wall Elected Officials Back Golden
Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden has picked up the endorsements of the elected officials from a third large municipality in his quest to replace John O. Bennett III as the Chairman of the Monmouth County Republican Organization.
Mayor Clint Hoffman, Deputy Mayor George Newberry and Township Committee Members Ann Marie Conte, Jeff Foster and Todd Luttman, the entire governing body of Wall Township, signed a letter on Wall Township Republican Organization letterhead and addressed to Monmouth County Republicans today, strongly endorsing Golden for Chairman. Their letter can be found here.
The Wall governing body joins the elected officials of Middletown and Howell in supporting Golden.
The Wall officials praised Golden’s leadership, integrity and communication skills. The called Golden a “proactive, charismatic leader” who is equipped to deal with Monmouth’s changing demographics and who will “reshape our party from the bottom up, build a sense of unity and camaraderie which has been missing for some time, and extend our Republican ideals to a more diverse audience.” The officials said, “these qualities are not just admirable, they are vital to longevity and party success.”
“It is extremely gratifying and humbling that the leaders of Wall Township have endorsed my vision for the future of our Party and of our great county,” Golden said, “Our elected official and county committee members are on the front line, serving the people of Monmouth County. They know first hand the challenges we face and, and what is missing in terms of Party support. We will build a Party that will help these public servants get the job done in their towns. ”
“I’m very happy to have the large towns on board, with Wall joining Middletown and Howell. But the small towns and their Republican Organizations are just as important. From Allenhurst to Keyport, Upper Freehold to Highlands; every one of our 53 towns will have the support of the Monmouth County Republican Organization when I am Chairman. Together we will forge strong partnerships. Republicans in the as of now Democratic strongholds like Red Bank, Belmar, Neptune , Marlboro and Aberdeen will not be left out.”
Bennett was not available for comment when MMM called. The is post will be updated when we hear back from him.
All we hear are crickets!
This one has to sting a little! When it was just Howell and Middletown, that can be overcome. Now that Wall is on board, the end is near. It would have been nice for Bennett just to endorse Golden and exit stage left, but this is what the party has come to!
Didn’t Bennett only say he was going to stay one term??? I may be mistaken on that though…
Now that you mention it, I seem to remember something about one term as well.
What say you Art Gallagher?
Remember anything like that?
Art, can you reprint some of the statements from Gov. Bennett when he was running the first time?
Would love to prove to these naysayers that Bennett did exactly as he said. No jobs for family members and bringing in new people, etc.

@SallyfromtheValley – “Gov. Bennett”….really? 3 days, I mean come on with the governor stuff. I’ve been in NFL locker rooms before, but I don’t go around calling myself a quarterback.
People have to realize that this is a new era in communication, outreach, number-crunching, etc….the time of yard signs and stickers is well behind all parties. Not saying I support anyone, but gotta get up with the times pplz.
