Bennett’s Undetered By Golden’s Endorsements

Monmouth County Republican Chairman John Bennett told MMM that he continues to be upbeat and positive about his chances for reelection on June 10, despite the endorsements of the municipal elected officials in Middletown and Howell going to his opponent in the GOP Chairman’s race, Sheriff Shaun Golden.
“Those were elected officials, not county committee members or municipal chairmen,” Bennett said, “I expect to get quite a few county committee votes from those towns. Those endorsements were not surprising to me.”
The chairman said he expected a similar endorsement for Golden to come out of Wall Township. “Its not over until its over,”he said, “I am remaining upbeat and positive. I’m keeping the campaign positive and I hope the other side does as well.”
Wall Township Municipal Chairwomen Mary DeSarno declined to comment.
Bennett said one of the elected officials who endorsed Golden told him that he/she was unaware Bennett was running for reelection when the Golden endorsement was made.

WE’RE WITH BENNETT! What a shame and a sham this all is. The sheriff strong-arms his way to become chair; stabbing Bennett in the neck along the way. Shows Shaun’s true colors. Lets see how he does when he has to make tough decisions and settle political squabbles. Lets se how he does when he has to pick sides. Lets see how he does with Freeholder Curley when he is chairman. Lets see how he does when he is conflicted over being elected and a party boss. Lets see how he does when he has to tell Colts Neck people he is from Howell. Lets see how he does when Singer retires and he cannot get the senate seat for Monmouth. Lets see how he does when he has to answer for the shenanigans in his own office. Lets see how he does when a long time supporter turns on him and stabs him like he has to Bennett. The shine is soon going to come off the “golden” boy since he is far from ready for prime time. This is about HIM and not the party as huge tries to climb the latter. Sad but true.
Bennett & Golden both good men (neither perfect), but I resent being forced to cast aspersions on either, for what … glory, greed, and/or lust of power? I’ve enjoyed 41 years, as County Committee, serving “the people”. Purported reasoning for ripping out the present Chair reeks of ‘ulterior motives’ that are, totally without consideration of, and certainly, … NOT in the best interest of, “the people”. Bennett has fulfilled the responsibilities of the Chair, and his commitment to bring the Party back to the Committee, more inclusive, more responsive … oftentimes without the cooperation of a few, as they continued to smile, actively and deceitfully engaged to stymie the process. Kinda’ points up who must be behind the current turmoil.

Sorry … so proud and honored … but NOT sincere enough to work WITH the team to suggest, point out, and implement your puffed up remedies during the past two years !!!!!! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN???? Let the rest of us continue the progress and success achieved under Bennett’s leadership and TOGETHER bolster the foundation already in place. REINVIGORATE rather than ELIMINATE. The garbage The Golden team is spewing has no place. Trying to bring up Chairman’s Bennett’s battles with the APP or taunting his daughter’s is just pathetic and unbecoming of someone who wants to be the party leader. Bennett should be re-elected and any cute “whisper campaigns” won’t work. Golden Boy is not ready for prime time and the bullies from Middletown and Howell (the big town syndrome who want to control everything) need to be put in their place. Electing Golden is a ticket punched for the “big towns” and a division of the party not seen since the end oaf the Dowd regime. Why go backwards? Momentum is building back up Bennett as Golden Boy peaked too soon. You watch!
Seems the big towns in unison shot their support for Golden in a strange and coincidently timed fashion. This reeks of conspiracy. Is Golden behind this?? I would say it is a sure shot he is. His many appearances at functions throughout the county is not support for candidates, but an attempt to build mounting support for himself.
We have already seen how unethical Golden is with the operations of his Sheriff’s Department. We have seen how he has taken care of his friends. Heck, who else would maintain a friend in a position to get two paychecks.
Maintain a friend in a position—a fake non-existent position to receive two (2) paychecks I meant to say. Can you imagine if this ethically and morally challenged now gets to wear two hats???? Who else will be taken care of and at whose expense???
Makes you wonder. For those against Bennett, what are the transgressions that would make you want to switch at this time?

How does anyone have time to be chairman when they are a full time Borough Administrator and attorney in about 30 different Monmouth County towns? Talk about feeding from the public trough.
a person’s election qualifications and real-time campaign experience when they challenge a successful sitting chair, and wondering if their constitutional office could bring potential conflicts to the position,is now considered “nasty,” by certain of their supporters, we are acting more thin-skinned and immature than first suspected, and therefore, are weakened as a political party.
One truth to remember above all .. everything negative said here, will be fodder for the Democrats, no matter how the race for GOP County Chairman goes. The downside of the internet; snarky comments & accusations probably remain out in cyberspace forever!
