The people have spoken!!!!! Can’t wait to see the excuse BSTP comes up with now. Must be quiet at “The Bunker”

  4. thank you and congrats Uncle John Costigan said at 9:46 pm on June 4th, 2013:

I certainly hope that I am not the first or last tonight to thank my friend, and every Republican’s friend, State Committeeman John Costigan. John spent many days and nights, including this past weekend on a huge GOTV effort in Howell and beyond. His work and dedication is an inspiration to this young Republican and I am sure that he inspires many others with his work ethic and dedication to ensuring good Republicans are elected everywhere.

Thank you again and keep up the great work. As always, please stop by, call or email me if you need a hand or just want to take a break and see someone else pickup the workload for a day or two.

BSTP.. How many times do you have to lose before you A) ditch Babs or B) dissolve?

  6. Remember these words Art? said at 10:30 pm on June 4th, 2013:

“If the turnout in the 13th is… 7,000 or less, there will be some nervous people at the Lincroft Inn tomorrow night”

    Joe Kyrillos, Jr. 5,515 78.70%
    Leigh-Ann Bellew 1,490 21.26%
    Write-In 3 0.04%
    Total 7,008 100.00%

Me thinks you need some brushing up on your numbers or a little more faith 🙂

The truth is the RC4L ran a horrible campaign, had no money and no get out the vote capability, all the while sporting horrible candidates. And, they outright tried to deceive the voters.

The voters saw through their games.

Congrats to all the winners! Nicely done.
It’s a great night for Monmouth County.

  8. Unnecessary panicking, frankly, said at 11:06 pm on June 4th, 2013:

and lots $$ spent, but good practice for Nov.. and, ok, we relented to D. 13, they are saved, now back to Freehold, which we must hold and are about, and where the food tastes better! Thx, JB..

  9. Art Gallagher said at 1:13 am on June 5th, 2013:

    JCG,

    Read the previous line:

If the turnout is between 7,000 and 10,000, their margin of victory will be comfortable.

And look at the most recent count, with all but one district reporting in the 13th:

    Joe Kyrillos, Jr. 5,859 78.76%
    Leigh-Ann Bellew 1,576 21.19%
    Write-In 4 0.05%
    Total 7,439 100.00%

My numbers were just fine. But I admit, I thought it would be closer with this turnout.

Bellew and BTPG underperformed my expectations. When the campaign started, I expected them to get between 2500 and 3000 votes.

  10. Barry said at 5:37 am on June 5th, 2013:

I think the closing weeks of the campaign that showed many flaws in the R4CL candidates, and also illustrated the lack of rationale for their challenge is what reduced their expected vote totals.

  11. OK Art said at 6:43 am on June 5th, 2013:

You win.You picked up 431 more votes in the total after I went to bed that allowed you to parse the 7000 or under gnashing of the teeth thing.

    🙂 🙂 🙂

  12. MiddletownMachine said at 7:01 am on June 5th, 2013:

The Middletown Machine was in full force on this one. Just looking at the local candidate results on the column 1 line, over 2400 votes for column 1. Congratulations to all and goodbye to the Bayshore Pee Party.

  13. Mark F. said at 8:31 am on June 5th, 2013:

So the RCL candidates lost and now let’s kick them when they are down. That’s it, that’s the ticket….and that BTPG also.

The vitriol is so high I suspect these folks were rooting for the Germans during the Warsaw ghetto uprising. You know, those pesky Jews not knowing their place. Those pesky Jews, with revolvers and single shot rifles battling a Wermacht with stuka’s, tanks and heavy machine guns. What were they thinking, those Jews, that RCL and those Bayshore people? Don’t they know their place? Don’t they know to kneel to the machine?

  14. Because this campaign was a mistake.. said at 8:35 am on June 5th, 2013:

That’s why the vitriol, Mark. It was waged by unqualified candidates against sitting officeholders didn’t deserve it.

It was a silly exercise, and the Bellew team has absolutely nothing to be proud of.

  15. Barry said at 8:37 am on June 5th, 2013:

As a son of the WWII veteran who helped liberate Sicliy and Italy, I take offense at comparing the R4CL to the Jews that were subjected to the big lie by those who emulated the Goebbels technique with their version of the big lie.

  16. Moral Relativism has killed the Tea Party in NJ said at 8:39 am on June 5th, 2013:

Actually Mark, the only people with any association to Holocaust deniers are your crowd. Didn’t Bellew speak at Americans for Liberty events? Didn’t Bayshore adopt Hal Turner’s slogan for their own?

You know Americans for Liberty. They promoted the Holocaust denier Maggie Roddin.

  17. Middletowner said at 9:32 am on June 5th, 2013:

This must be a huge victory for the BSTP. With 20 members and a 4-person rally, they got over 1,500 tea party-certified and constitutionally-approved votes!

  18. Ahhh, the Nazi thing.... said at 9:48 am on June 5th, 2013:

Godwin’s Law (also known as Godwin’s Law of Nazi Analogies) is an assertion made by Mike Godwin in 1990 that has become an Internet adage. It states: “As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1.

In other words, Godwin said that given enough time, in any online discussion—regardless of topic or scope—someone inevitably makes a comparison to Hitler or the Nazis.

  19. 1500 is the peak said at 9:48 am on June 5th, 2013:

The trouble that the BSTP has is that you have an unqualified “leader”, who rejects the title of “leader” despite being one because she is spineless and doesn’t want to take accountability for her words and actions. Barbara thinks, and has convinced those who follow her leadership, that 1500 votes (or 20%) extrapolates to the same influence plus the party loyal in a general election. However, despite her claims, that 20% does NOT scale with a larger election and party loyal, as demonstrated twice with Anna Little, are not necessarily going to support the BSTP candidate, thus a Pallone stomp on her.

Let me phrase it this way. If the BSTP was to run a truly independent candidate in a general election, that candidate would not get 20% of the votes cast, and that candidate wouldn’t even change the outcome of a race. That candidate would get, exactly, 1500 votes, regardless of the total number of votes cast. And again, please do not fall for Barbara’s misinformation and reference Anna Little as proof otherwise. Anna Little is an establishment Republican, former Freeholder and Mayor. Anna Little is not a never heard of this guy college drop out living in her parent’s basement trying to run for a county seat. Anna Little HAD real support and real name recognition among many long time, hard working Republicans across the county… plus the 1500 votes that the BSTP can bring.

  20. @middletowner said at 9:48 am on June 5th, 2013:

Yeah big victory just like Mondale, McGovern, Goldwater, and Landon lol.

  21. not a tea partier said at 9:58 am on June 5th, 2013:

but we now need a united party and a united effort in nov. You can say what you want about the Dems and Libs, but a page should be taken from their book. After the primaries and the nasties they always come together for a common goal.(do you think the Clintons like Obama and vice versa) That is something we Republicans can’t seem to do. Its time to use all our energy against the Dems in nov and not waste it bashing each other. The Dems love that the R’s are divided, that’s how they won on the national level and they count on it in every election.

Time to realize you can’t always agree 100 percent with the party candidate, but would you rather stay divided and possibly loose an election.

There is no such thing as a “real Conservative” or “fake Conservative” . No one and I mean no one can be or should be in 100 percent agreement all the time. It is not healthy and only makes you an ideologue and not a Leader.

Put your differences aside and win more elections.

  22. Astraea said at 10:19 am on June 5th, 2013:

Mark F – Totally uncalled for comments, and analogy between the Jews in WWII, and the BSTP!!

I can’t count the number of times in the last couple of days, that Chairman Bennett stressed “coming together” after the Primary. That’s no “kick them when they’re down” attitude towards Tea Party members!

  23. TROOF said at 11:25 am on June 5th, 2013:

    Mark F.,
As a Jew and a human, you sir, are an ass.

Hopefully this will put the nail in the coffin for the leadership of the BSTP. The Mon. Rep Party is happy to embrace conservative minded republicans. But Babs represented everything that is wrong with the party and politics in general.

  24. Dennis said at 11:37 am on June 5th, 2013:

I almost never post here, but as someone who is part Slav and Roma Gypsy, I have to chime in and say that Mark’s comment was both irrelevant and offensive. To compare the Monmouth GOP to the Nazis, which is essentially what he just did, either betrays a complete lack of understanding of history and contemporary politics or greatly trivializes the Holocaust.

  25. @ Mark FOULzone said at 12:06 pm on June 5th, 2013:

    Mark,

Comments like above are the reasons why Democrats paint Tea Partiers in a bad light, and you did nothing to serve your cause.

However you did a lot to damage it.

These comments and Barbara, et al’s insane attacks on the incumbents, along with the foul mouths of Helene, Pony and others; insulting real conservatives with the RINO label are among the reasons why “we “don’t need you.”

Get an attitude adjustment and then come back to the table. Oh, and fix the leadership of the BSTPG or start another one. It’s broken.

The election showed that you can not bring real votes to the table and what votes you brought were most likely based on totally unfair characterizations of the incumbent’s records, ie lies.

REAL Conservatives came to the table and helped the incumbents win. We don’t need people who can’t win elections.

There is NOTHING WRONG with Conservative, Tea Party values. What’s wrong are the people running the show and the candidates who are absolutists and think they are better than anyone.

Yes, Babs must go. But somehow, I think you will all hold on to a sinking ship. FOULzone proved that today.

(clearly not Helene… but she can take this template and copy/paste if she’d like….)

Hi Jim, my apologies for the vicious personal attacks against you as a person. Clearly I did not understand that I was blindly following a leadership team that includes Mark and Barbara into a dark place that has no hope and no future but is full of only anger and hatred. I can only ask for your sincere forgiveness and the opportunity to prove to you, GOP voters and readers of MMM that I am not the terrible person that my comments here and elsewhere may cause you to believe that I am. Please know that I love my county, I love freedom and I simply want to leave the campsite in better condition than I found it for the next to come along. In the future, I will be sure to make more level headed, less derogatory comments and not align myself with those who spew vile hate and put their own ambitions above the good of our nation. Again, I’m sincerely sorry to you and the others who I have attacked repeatedly.

Signed, (clearly not Helene but sure as H-E-doublehockeysticks should be)

  28. Blushing said at 3:31 pm on June 5th, 2013:

Ah, Interesting comment there [Not] Helene.

But the truth is that there are so many other, more important people who were wrongly attacked. THAT’S the real story, that a few foolish people castigated so many like yourself in abstention by using me as a foil. They wrongly thought that I would go away or that they could minimize me with mockery.

Hell, I’ve taken so many hard knocks in life, that kind of crap falls right off my shoulder. But, I am offended for the others who believe in Conservatism but know there is a reality to the world, you good people out there who really didn’t deserve RINO labels or worse.

It’s YOU folks that count, not me. You are the younger generation that needs to take over from us old schlubs.

I really hope that a new Tea Party arises from the ashes of this firestorm that the BSTPG created. While leading such an effort is beyond me, I would always love to help.

Is there some bold Conservative out there, ready to answer the call?

    Time will tell.

    Meanwhile, Be Safe,

    Jim
