Governor…Enough bullshitting….do something about our 2nd amendment right to arm and protect ourselves. If we trust our teachers and security guards, then they should be armed to protect our children while in school. If I am shopping at the mall, I should not be a sitting duck for some nutbag. I am a law abiding citizen who should have the right to carry.
This latest travesty shows that another nut saw what the new “in thing to do” for nuts, is! Open fire on unarmed innocent people and children. Babies for God’s sake!!Who will be next? Do we stop going to the mall? Do we stop going to the movies? Do we keep our children in the house? If I were Governor, the first thing on my list Monday morning would be on making NJ a “right to carry” state. AND BEFORE ANYONE SAYS IT…NO, ITS NOT INSENSITIVE TO TALK ABOUT GUN LAWS DURING THIS TRAGEDY! IT’S TIME TO HAVE IT OUT ON THIS SUBJECT.

P.S. Governor……do you have armed protection? Nuff said.

barbara – you’d be best served by contacting Sen Mike Doherty. He is probably our best friend in the NJ legislature

“The only triumph for evil is for good men to do nothing.” -Edmund Burke

Almost 30 dead, nearly a third of them children. Dozens of law enforcement officers arrived at the school only after the gunman had shot himself dead. It is clear that we cannot depend on law enforcement to save lives in these active shooter scenarios. All of these deaths are tragedies, but only because nobody was able to properly defend themselves from a madman who operated outside of not only the law, but logic as well. This man was pure evil. The reaction should not be to pass down stricter gun laws. The reaction should be to stop inhibiting the ability of courageous and responsible heroes from defending their lives and the lives of others from those who are determined to strip them away. It is no accident these killings take place at “gun free zones” where the killers know that they have free reign to slaughter and not be stopped. Can you think of a more helpless group of people than a kindergarten class? These madmen do not shoot up police academies or shooting ranges where there will be resistance.

I call on the New Jersey legislature, courts, and Governor to acknowledge the God given and Constitutionally protected right of every free human being in this state and allow the ability to carry a concealed weapon for the defense of life and liberty so that when faced with a situation like those in Connecticut we do not have to cower away and wonder why our government has forsaken us by stripping us of our ability to counteract evil when we are facing down a gun held by a psychopath. Clearly defending oneself does not stop at the threshold of our homes, property, or places of business as some in this state would like to think.
