I am so sick of listening to this one-trick-pony detract attention away from his own incompetence by pointing the finger at others.

Of course we will have a budget shortfall. Even though we are in the middle of a severe recession, this liberal pretending to be a conservative actuallyproposed increasing state spending by 8% over what was spent the previous year. Despite having the enormous power of a line-item veto, Christie approved a final budget that increased spending considerably above the current rate of inflation.

Christie justified this huge increase in government spending by predicting that revenues to the state would increase by 7%. That’s not going to happen, of course. A 7% increases in state revenues might happen in boom times but we certainly aren’t in boom times now. Rather than admit that he approved too much new spending; rather than admit that his own revenue predictions were entirely too optimistic; Christie did what he always does. He gets in front of a camera, points the finger at someone other than himself and generally acts exacerbated at the perceived incompetence of whatever straw man he is blaming this week. That may make for great You Tube videos but it makes for a lousy governor.
