lil dicky, flopsy, and killeen the english language are furiosly searching the leftist blogosphere to find imaginary dirt on Ryan who paid his taxes and didn’t kill any women—yet

  2. Bob English said at 10:31 am on August 11th, 2012:

I’ll give Brian a couple of days to come up with a coherent positive thought about Rep. Ryan before posting anything.

If nothing else it helps to sure up Romneys support with the right wing base of the party that did not want Romney as the nominee in the first place.

  3. brian said at 10:31 am on August 11th, 2012:

ln the last 1200 days, only ONE budget has not only passed but actually recieved votes—414 votes against the Milhous budgets and ZERO in favor, but Ryan is the radical-SMH

  4. brian said at 10:42 am on August 11th, 2012:

Flopsy—what is the Dem plan to “sure” up Medicare???? Where in their budget is it???? Which line????

  5. brian said at 10:43 am on August 11th, 2012:

What part of Milhous’s budget deals with the rising debt??? Which line????

  6. brian said at 10:44 am on August 11th, 2012:

Besides cutting the Social Security contributions by half–what is Milhous/Reid”s budget proposals to keep it solvent??? Which line???? How do they plan to “sure” it up???????????????

  7. Go, Romney/Ryan! said at 3:24 pm on August 11th, 2012:

hope and pray they will give a succinct, coherent message and choice, that will mean we finally get things back on track, instead of this sick and demented rush to full socialism.. it is finally time for tough decisions and truth: we are in a mess, and it will take guts and brains, and full commitment to our founding principles and documents, in order for us to regain even some prosperity and respect for the USA.. bless them, in this fight for our future…

  8. Joe Killeen said at 5:04 pm on August 11th, 2012:

Watch what you wish for Brian. Especially what you feel compelled to call out for in public.
I have to agree Mitt may have outdone himself with his choice for a Veep running mate. Ryan is photogenic, slim of build, and has a well spoken and coherent set of talking points. He does however have that Republican fatal flaw, he missed the details of the why and how of the last economic downturn, I’m sorry blip, to the professionally engaged.
Coming out in detail and straight forwardly advocating that all of us stagnating suckers should support a plan to allow 1/3 of our current and future social security taxes to be placed in the hands of the same private money managers who took most of what we did or would have earned over the last ten years and lost our piece, not their end is something that if a sitcom writer made up would find the script idea in the wastebasket sooner than on Fox Network. That these same financial genius’ only needed, us, the losers, to take on their bad debt, and let them remain winners, may be a bit too right for even the most conservative of voters.

The fact that the smart money boys and girls have continued to throw money at the US Bond market and accept rates that border on the investors paying the Government to take their money and pay them little or no return for the loan doesn’t indicate the US is a liberal welfare state bordering on collapse as you like to pronounce.
But that can be chalked up to the dismal state of any other place for the smart money to lay low until the log jam of Republican fiscal responsibility gets cut loose and business returns to usual, after the election, no matter who wins.
Mr. Ryan in the meanwhile will continue his let them get healthy and retire with the same choices we in the Congress enjoy.
That I agree with as long as we all get the mid night tweets, early morning newsletters, direct water cooler hints and the same opportunity to build those nest eggs and post public service business opportunities “ourselves” just like all those other blue blooded Republican entrepreneurs who took umbrage at the you didn’t build it yourself comment. The Real American He Man Insiders Club. Mitt’s the I know Nothing CEO and Ryan is now the accountant in speech.

  9. Joe Killeen said at 5:40 pm on August 11th, 2012:

After recalling his family’s immigration from Ireland generations ago, and his belief in the virtue of people who ‘pull themselves up by the bootstraps,’ Ryan warned that a generous safety net ‘lulls able-bodied people into lives of complacency and dependency, which drains them of their very will and incentive to make the most of their lives. It’s demeaning.’

Paul Ryan on why cutting almost two (2) Trillion more from government safety net programs is sound fiscal policy with the added moral character building as an extra perk.
Government safety net programs include all levels of publically supported education as well as veterans benefits. On top of these cuts he wants to give 1/3 of the current and future tax revenue to Wall Street and the insurance industry “to stimulate” the economy. Yup, that’s the ticket.

  10. Self Made Man said at 5:51 pm on August 11th, 2012:

Wish I was born with the Romney family “bootstraps’.

  11. brian said at 9:50 am on August 12th, 2012:

JO Joe—we have a plan–you’re “socialist” net is unsustainable and leaking like a sieve–WHAT’S YOUR PLAN TO FIX IT???
Milhous’s “Tax the rich” allows us to borrow for 20 more days–THEN WHAT??
Put your plan up so we can compare it to the Ryan plan, or stfu.

  12. Joe Killeen said at 2:03 pm on August 12th, 2012:

As the “social compact” of government originated retirement, health care and quality of life philosophy and actions came into existence. Communists and socialists were seen behind or under every desk. It may have been they were harder to identify than the Pinkerton men, strike breakers and industrialist funding any and all tactics and strategies to end the use of child labor, dangerous and unhealthy working conditions or just run of the mill poor wages for a lifetime of labor.
Not going to list them all but just a few of the components that now make up some of the socialist net you now say we can’t afford.
Social Security- a contract made with all citizens of the country that replaced the practice of the majority of working people having to go to the local church and ask for help when they could no longer make the opening bell. Paid for by the individual and the business he worked for.
A financial plan for the majority that has had more actuarial tables and alerts about the need to manage it for the changing demographics of those citizens.
If those numbers and if those who could do something would not waste time looking to dump the contract with the people and put their energy into operating the system, we wouldn’t be discussing getting rid of it for 30 year old, 12 year olds or the yet to be born.
A philosophy that would return the average citizen to the conditions of the Gilded Age when money ruled absolutely, not just through the dancing pencils of tax policy.
When Medicare became law, key phrase here, became law. The proponents and opponents both admitted not understanding the full extent of the program over time.
But all sides, both yeah and neah, said we are going to have to keep and eye on it and be prepared to deal with the advances in medicine and technologies that are predicted to raise the average life expectancy and cost of modern medical options to extend that life expectancy.
Again, a law passed and a contract entered into by my and your government. Again not like the alerts haven’t been heard often and early about the numbers and the increasing costs to meet that contract.
Can I tell you the exact formula and course of actions to be taken to fix these problems, no. But I do know that by any records kept by either political party, the national debt was somewhere between slim and none before the Bush tax program was enacted.
Since that program was enacted the national and personal debt has risen to the level it is today.
Because I advocate for fixing the existing social compacts and maintaining a social safety net for all citizens and not seeking the easy way out and throw out the tricky bits that don’t increase the wealth of the corporate citizens whose actions required the government to step in and put them in place originally, might make me, pig headed and not accepting of the “free” market party line but that is how my mother raised me.
The money is there just look at the documents. Try looking at them from the belief that we have had these laws and promises on the books for a few years, that American’s, some of them quite strong and steady in their love and belief in this country , supported them, opposed them and amended them along the way, but so far, up until now, very few of them have said, let’s let the “free” market handle these details we have a business to run and it needs our help, more than those bothersome people.

  13. Joe Killeen said at 2:09 pm on August 12th, 2012:

Brian- it may be a mix of my age and my relatively recent involvement with the site but I am confused as to who Millhous is?
I only know of one person referred to as Millhous in my lifetime, Richard M(millhous) Nixon. I don’t think you are speaking of his budget or financial acumen, so let me in on the code, who is this modern day Millhous?

  14. Joe Killeen said at 2:20 pm on August 12th, 2012:

Oh, I am not so old and feeble that I don’t know what stfu means. Sort of the ignorant way of saying speak when spoken to, or when I want your opinion, I’ll give it to you. Further incentive to have me support anyone or anything you advocate.
    Peace, Out.

  15. brian said at 5:38 pm on August 12th, 2012:

All that verbal vomit to say you don’t have a clue how to fix anything or accept any personal responsibility—–move to Europe and i reiterate–if you have no solutions stfu,

  16. brian said at 5:39 pm on August 12th, 2012:

And your boy Milhous quadrupled the deficit to be paid by the 12 year olds

  17. Bob English said at 9:36 pm on August 12th, 2012:

Agree with Joe…I never heard the term/name used except as Nixon’s middle name.

  18. Let Me Say This About That said at 10:48 pm on August 12th, 2012:

Milhouse is a character on the Simpsons though his name is spelled with an “e” at the end. Perhaps little brian is alluding to that character and not old Tricky Dick who spelled his middle name without the “e”. Since Milhouse of cartoon fame is a gullible type and little brian probably thinks the same of our President, perhaps that is what he is alluding to. Perhaps we can come up with an equally cute name for Romney. So many to choose from!

  21. Joe Killeen said at 10:48 am on August 13th, 2012:

In a budget as vast and all encompassing as the federal budget I think it possible to find 10,20 or 50 answers to the question of how do we spend our money more wisely.
4 Billion the amount (reported) that the Ryan Budget assigns to defense more than the Armed Forces asked for.
5 Billion- the amount (reported) of direct subsidies and tax deductions provided to the fossil fuel industry, each year, while that industry enjoys quarterly profits, 4 times a year accrued profits, in the billions.
??? Billions- number is hard to pin down but exceeds the combined 9 Billion mentioned above by a multiple of 5 minimum or 45 Billion annually- an estimated average of the health care costs spent on individuals, people, citizens, due to the hazards of fossil fuel energy, compounds and every day products in the marketplace. INCLUDING THE KNOWN AND UNKNOWN RESULTS OF DUMPING FRACKING WASTE IN THE GROUND OF NJ.
I will over the next few days offer some other possible budgetary solutions that are as possible and achievable to govern the majority and not throw out the social compact that has and will if left intact make this the best of all countries in which to live and express oneself without fear of disenfranchisement or intimidation being the strategy of the ruling class.

the attention span of those who don’t want to hear positive things about Chairman Bennett or the county GOP?.. wow, some here are becoming the “War and Peace” of the blogosphere, but, unlike some, we can handle it, though it is rather tough getting through it, at times!!.. (at least some of us actually want see what other views are, even if we disagree with them!)..

There are a lot of little dickies in the Senate… And I second Rick on the pig boy vote ..but there are a slew of politicians in Middletown that can hold that title.
