HANLON ANNOUNCES ENDORSEMENTS BY MONMOUTH REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP
Christine Hanlon today released a list of municipal chairs and party leaders supporting her in the upcoming election for Monmouth County Republican Chair. The chairs who have pledged their support to Hanlon represent 394 county committee members, more than half of the 768 total committee membership.
“I am grateful and humbled by the support I’ve gotten from so many people across Monmouth County since I announced my candidacy for Monmouth County Republican Chair,” said Hanlon. “The leadership of our party understands that we must keep moving forward and know that I am the choice to keep our party stable and to lead us into the future. People are happy at the direction the party has taken in the last four years and they want to keep moving forward. We’ve improved our fundraising efforts, expanded our grassroots network and volunteer support, improved communication with our base and most importantly, won elections. I’ve been involved in all of those efforts, and if I’m elected Chair, people know those efforts will continue.”

However they only represent more than half the votes if their seats are filled. Looking at some of these towns you know many if not most of their seats aren’t filled. Nice spin though
Wow…you’re wrong. Those are the totals of filled committee seats from all the towns supporting Christine.
The total doesnt include all the people from the supposedly locked up western Monmouth towns who have contacted Christine to tell her they’re supporting her even if their chairman isnt. 🙂
Western Monmouth Senior Citizen here
voting for Christine Hanlon….plenty more of us supporting her also.
Christine Hanlon is far and away the best candidate to succeed Joe Oxley. She has proven herself over and over again as a superior fundraiser and tireless worker for the party. Christine my friend, you have more support than you know, and we will work feverishly to see that you are our next Chair.
on that list are said to be livid that they were placed there, without being asked.. this is the danger of”endorsements”: some aren’t still chair, some haven’t filled their seats, some don’t even HAVE a vote, it’s often meaningless, when one comes down to it… how about running on one’s qualifications and merit, rather than trying to stonewall a sunami that may really be a ripple or a medium-sized wave??
Does anyone know if hanlon is using taxpayer money to pay for health insurance from a part time job ? Can anyone confirm this or is it rumor ? What job ? Has anyone looked at datauniverse.com to see income ?
part-time, County Board of Elections, with health benefits..several county and town jobs.. dip, dip, dip.
This is disturbing to me….my husband is County Committee and just heard about Joe (apparently) not running for re-election. He thinks John Bennett has the strong political background and”gravitas” to be Chair and also has complimented the “newbie” Chris for her re: couple of years of dedicated volunteer service. BUT, got wind of the “jobs” situation and other questions that he has. The following I did confirm, if websites are current as to Chris:
1. Member of Monmouth County Board of Elections, PAID position??? How much? “Rumor” — please anyone with “facts” answer this — does this part time position really come with FAMILY health coverage and is her husband also a lawyer with a full time position?
I did find the following which does reflect she is on the Board (but couldn’t come up quick with if position is paid/includes health):

2. Tinton Falls?? Per data universe paid and “in the system”

3. Is in a law firm
http://www.monmouthlegal.com/
that does significant gov’t work — Middletown, Tinton Falls, the County
4. PTA Mom with FOUR elementary school age children???? Adding to the several paid jobs, lawyer in firm, I find it bizarre that anyone in this position would have ANY interest or the TIME to add in the job of a County Chair, unless there is another plan.., see below comment 6.

5. Just FYI I am not “anti-female,”just the opposite. I actively “follow” politics, am a staunch conservative R mother, always vote, but devote my efforts to my 3 children ages 14, 10 and 6 (taking a hiatus from my former life as an MD) and I do spend a portion of each evening checking politicker, blogs, etc and share info w/husband who does his “Committeman” in medium size town job well while working full time to make a living for our family.
6. We were both impressed with the John Bennett letter, and we agree with every initiative etc. – was this a pre-emptive strike because Chris Hanlon is announcing that she will be a “full time Chair” which could be compelling to offset her having just been involved for a couple of years??
Need real info from people that are not shills for either of these two R’s — anyone out there???? Remember Reagan 🙂
once again, different article, County Board of Elections, part-time, $24,600, full health benefits.. several town and over $100,000 in county work for her firm, currently- got it?.. dip, dip, dip..
Does Bennett have any public income? Do any of his family members have any public sector jobs? Has he advocated for his family members to get public sector jobs?
I find this quite disgusting and abusive to have us taxpayers foot the bill for health insurance!! Is it for family ?
Whay hypocisy. Health insurance is now contributory, while the other candidate for Chair continues to receive free (never had to pay a premium and never will) health insurance for himself in perpertuity, and had the same deal for his family for year when he had dependents.
then, and now!.. name ANYone who today would turn down benefits they earned over MANY years..right, the new law makes public employees pay more toward their benefits- the diff is, most work full-time to receive them..
Well he helped make those laws he benefits by so your premise is faulty. He was an enabler to this rotten system with public employees. Also don’t forget the 7% gift to himself in 2002.
was/has been in place for decades, for heaven’s sake!..and both parties, largely Dems, made it good for themselves.. if one considers oneself a supporter of these leaders, and votes for them, he is saying they deserve the benefits- should they endure all the rigors of campaigns and do the public’s business for free?..and then, maybe if he or his family can get public jobs, and they work for and at it, they are also entitled to what the system provides.. it is the past few years of this Obama economy, that has shrunk the formerly healthy private sector, that has unleashed the disdain for those still working in the public sector!.. haves and have-nots again.. if it’s relevant what John has, then it’s even more relevant today what she has, and intends to continue with,so at least be fair!..
one of you eagle eyes going back into John’s high school career to see if he ever “bullied” anybody??. it’s getting infantile.. the major point is, how can a county chair avoid conflicts of interest if they are taking county work, benefits, and jobs?-they can’t..
