He’s a pathological liar….yet you still see nothing wrong with that.
ought to start using green ink: their class-warfare, jealousy of ANYone with a gov’t. job, or more than they get at that failing enterprise,is so boring, it makes the car ads look interesting, these days.. for a long time,if they aren’t whining, they just have zero to say!.. some “news organization” we are stuck with, in these parts!.. very sad and pathetic..
Funny how the only quoted people in the rag and at the meeting were the 12 Democrats who didn’t vote for Scharfenberger anyway. IF this was such a big issue, why wasn’t one person present who voted for Scharfenberger and felt duped there? The reason is because NOBODY CARES but the local Dems.
Can someone remind the local Democrats that they were crushed on Nov. 2? The reason that the rag ran another article is because Penton is working for the Democrats. I was sitting a few feet from Penton and the sleazebag Democrats were passing him notes after which he would type into his laptop. Why do you think he ignored the D’Amico and Pallone stories? The Neptune Nudniks are not a legitimate paper and Penton has a well-earned reputation as the worst, most inaccurate reporter they ever had on their staff. Maybe someone from a real paper should investigate to see if Penton is on the Dem payroll. And the poster who said 12 people were there got it wrong – there were about 8 of the usual motley Dem crew there, and about five got up to whine about this. It was like being at a Democrat club meeting without the cigarette smoke and keg of beer.

Scharfenberger is not only a pathological liar, he’s an idiot who finally got caught in his own web of deception.
Penton is a lazy reporter who got one story right last week. This one was disappointing.
Bravo to those who continue to take this Mayor to task and expose him for what he is. An incompetent fool as I’ve heard from those in his own party. No one on that dais including his side kick Brian Nelson said a word in his defense. Because there is no defending him.
Where were all of you who condone his behavior? No show of support for him? Too busy writing on this stupid blog.
I hardly call winning by less than 3000 votes getting crushed and you all know Anna Litttle’s army of delusional nuts had something to do with the turnout. Any other time the Dems would have won.
But then I don’t like to gloat about undeserved victories.

That’s because there’s absolutely nothing to defend.
1. All township committee and freeholders in Monmouth County (and others) have a job aside from the part-time elected positions. Amy Mallet has a job, Sean Byrnes had a job, Pat Menna has a job, everybody has another job!
2. When a Republican Governor was elected, it’s normal that all political appointments will go to Republicans, same as when we had a Democratic Governor, and all those appointments went to Democrats.
3. Scharfenberger was just elected to a 3-year term, by about a 12,000-8,000 majority, and I see no reason why he should resign.
Try 12,500 to 9,600. Yes decisive but not overwhelming.
Not questioning holding the job. Questioning his lying about it when asked by numerous reporters what is your occupation and omitting it at a candidates’ night.
Lying about taking a salary. He also stated his job was as a volunteer, but he accepted a salary as of Aug. 8th. He finally admitted that Monday night.
He dodged around answering whether he met with the DEP on Oct. 21st, saying it wasn’t in Trenton, but later admitted it was in Middletown. Conflict of interest there. Was he there on State’s time or acting as Mayor? Was he using his new position to put pressure on the DEP?
If the man had any integrity, he would have disclosed this information at the time of the appointment and the Governor should have also announced it.
The public had a right to know and he deliberately with held the info. His feeble excuse was he didn’t want to influence the election was pathetic.
It’s not about the job, it’s about the lack of transparency and deception. This guy is an expert at both.
What’s his salary, that he took as of Aug. 8th?
And there’s no secret about meeting with the DEP, everybody knew about it. What’s wrong about getting help for Middletown from the DEP? The people should be thankful that Middletown has a voice in Trenton (with Scharfenberger), and could get some expedited help in dealing with the DEP – meaning for our parks and open spaces.

Chris, he was paid his salary (stipend) till Aug. the 6th. Yearly salary is $4000. You can divide it. When pressed he finally admitted this at Monday night’s TC meeting.
He told 120 people at a candidates’ forum on Oct. 28th that he personally decided not to take his salary and that he was a volunteer. Also never admitted his primary source of income was his new state job.
Once again proving he is a liar.

Actually no, TRT is not on my sh-t list. I wasn’t at the meeting. Their article is informative. The only problem I have with it is they referred to MMM as ” a local conservative blog” rather than naming it. Even Greg Bean names the blog when he refers to it.

I don’t know what meeting you were at, but I was there. Kevin Penton was sitting in the back of the court room a lone, with no one else next to him. He had 1 person to his back and one person in the row in front of him. No one passed him notes, not 1 Republican and certainly not any Dems. As a matter of fact, the closed republican that I saw Penton sitting near was Andrew Bane (could AB be The Dems Lost?).
At least he showed, even though he nothing to say that night.
Afterwards, once he was done questioning Scharfenberger I saw that he, along with the other reporters, was talking to those that were in attendance. He was at that time doing his job, taking notes n his notepad not laptop – I’ve never seen with a laptop at any meetings!
It’s funny how everyone on the “Right” praises the APP every time they go after a Democrat, but when they report on Republicans and their abuses of power or position, then the APP is a liberal, biased rag.
