REMINDER: PALLONE SAID GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER OF HEALTHCARE WAS HIS IDEA

(HIGHLANDS, October 7) – Republican congressional challenger Anna Little – responding to release of a national survey indicating that the electorate’s opposition to the government takeover of healthcare enacted earlier this year is growing and hardening as the election approaches – today reminded voters in New Jersey’s 6th Congressional District that her opponent, 22-year incumbent Frank Pallone, famously claimed of the legislation, “This is not Obama’s bill. This isn’t Nancy Pelosi’s bill. This is MY bill.”

“Nancy Pelosi and Frank Pallone were wrong to enact legislation mandating a government takeover of our healthcare,” said Little. “The bill they pushed through puts a government bureaucrat between you and your family doctor, reduces patient choice, raises taxes, and cuts Medicare by $500 billion. That’s just wrong.

“What’s worse,” continued Little, “is that Frank Pallone insists it wasn’t Barack Obama’s bill, and it wasn’t Nancy Pelosi’s bill. No, he insists, it was HIS bill all along. You can see video of him claiming it was his bill right here: http://www.stoppallone.com/

“Frankly, Frank, the voters of New Jersey’s 6th Congressional District don’t care whether it was your bill or Nancy Pelosi’s bill – all they care about is that it be repealed as soon as possible,” Little continued. “And that’s exactly what I plan to do when I get to Congress next year.

“We need healthcare reform that actually puts more power in the hands of patients and their doctors, and takes it away from government bureaucrats,” said Little. “We need healthcare reform that strengthens Medicare, rather than cuts it, and we need healthcare reform that increases patient choice, rather than reduces it.

“That’s what we’re going to try to do in the next Congress, and that’s why I cannot wait to get there.

“The good news is, there’s an election in 26 days!”

Yes…and maybe we should thank him for the provision that NOW allows pre-existing conditions to not exclude someone from getting health insurance. Why does that never get mentioned? Is Anna Little in the pocket of the insurance companies? Hmmm…

I am glad someone brought that up.

Because it is now mandated that all insurance companies cover all pre-existing conditions that means insurance will cost more for all of us.

Just like every other government health care mandate drives up the cost of insurance making it more expensive for everyone.

What a great idea make insurance more expensive (which for you liberals out there is the same thing as making it less affordable).

    Way to go Frank

I guess you’re ok with letting people die then Laffey? What is the value of a life to you?

  4. Mlaffey said at 11:21 pm on October 8th, 2010:

    No you idiot.
What I am saying is that mandates on insurance companies makes insurance more expensive for everybody and therefore less people can afford it. That could concievably lead to more deaths.

If insurance was really operating in a free market more people would have access to affordable insurance and for those who wanted every test and every pre existing condition covered, they could save their money and buy a cadillac policy. If there is a demand for cadillac policies prices will come down on them too.

Insurance is a business not your personal social service program. The reason it is so expensive is because the government and people like you can’t tell the difference and don’t understand basic economics.

Really Laffey? And how well has that worked so far. My brother in law couldn’t get any type of insurance since he had cancer. Now he can. I would think that you are the real idiot for siding with the insurance companies over people that need to be covered. But hey, your entitled to your opinion, as am I. Too bad your opinion would kill people.

I guess I should be able to get house insurance after my house burns down too.
Or life insurance after I get diagnosed with a terminal illness.
In a normal insurance market your brother would be able to get medical insurance although it might have excluded cancer. because that is the way insurance is supposed to work.
Would he have died. No, we have plenty of charity care in this state.
As I said insurance is not your personal social service program it is a business and for the most people to benefit from it ( get affordable insurance) it should work like a businees. Thats not siding with anyone. that is common sense.

As reported in todays Wall Street Journal because of the new requirement for coverage of pre existing conditions many companies that sell children only policies are pulling out of that market.

Using Mr. Ambrosiac’s logic that must mean he is against children having insurance.
