Gary Rich ends his campaign for U.S. Senate

Former Monmouth County Freeholder Gary Rich responded to our text message asking if he is still running for U.S. Senate fourteen hours later with one word: “No.”

He has not yet endorsed another candidate.

Rich cancelled is scheduled interview with the Monmouth GOP screening committee over the weekend and will not appear on the ballot at the Monmouth Republican nominating convention this Saturday morning at iPlayAmerica.

He lost at conventions the Union County last week and in Somerset and Hunterdon Counties last night.

Rik Mehta, an attorney/entrepreneur from Morris County, won the endorsements in Union, Somerset and Hunterdon and will have the Party line on the June 2 primary ballot in those counties.
