  1. I'd hope that said at 6:11 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

whomever the lady’s “braintrust”/ “inner circle” are now, that they did “Politics 101”, and actually called and got verbal ok’s on any “endorsements”, before posting them.. if not, it will be a long, sad ending to a potentially winning career.. when the defeats start to overcome the wins, and the truth-shadings start to become the norm, it’s time to “park the bus,” as Don Imus would say..

  2. Freespeaker1976 said at 7:18 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

She’s “Dead In The Water” Already.

As to the previous comment, in reality; Anna has a history of doing things like this; self destructing along the way. She refuses to listen to reality and only listens to what she wants to hear.

So, when you say “potentially winning career,” I would have to question that on the basis of her known character flaws. Her politics are right. It’s just that she can’t seem to get out of the way of her own ego.

  3. Bob English said at 7:40 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

You can just go ahead and put “no” next to everyones name right now. Not sure about a few of the groups.

  4. TR said at 7:48 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

Only one left in the Brain Trust is Larry Consigliere. So sad. So much potential wasted because of what? Ego? Emotional issue? I just don’t know.

  5. Longtime Observer said at 8:17 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

Oh brother, this really IS sad. Awful seeing someone self-destruct this way. What a shame.

  6. Helene said at 8:18 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

Art, this is a little misleading. On Anna’s web site she is not claiming to have endorsements from the list in your post. She is stating she as had edorsements in the past from the list.

  7. ArtGallagher said at 8:22 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

    Helene,

That is exactly how I reported it.

Anna’s website is what is misleading.

I even took the big red font from her site.

  8. Helene said at 8:43 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

    Take another look Art.
    Endorsements

Below are endorsements of Anna Little’s work and previous runs for office:
I did copy & past with the above.
It is pretty clear to me.

  9. CommonSense said at 8:44 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

Where’s Rick Perry’s endorsement? You mean he isn’t going to endorse his #2 in New Jersey?!? (insert sarcastic tone)

  10. Longtime Observer said at 8:53 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

    Helene,
Take another look at what Art wrote. He said the exact same thing. I think you misread what’s above.

  11. ArtGallagher said at 9:00 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

    Helene…

    what Longtime Observer said.

I can understand how you misread it, given that black fine print my post opens with and the bold red letters the names are printed in.

That by the way, is exactly how it appears on Little’s website.

  12. Helene said at 9:17 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

Longtime Observer, if the purpose of this post was not to mislead, then why the list?

  13. Longtime Observer said at 9:40 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

    Helene,
That question would be better put to whomever designed Little’s Senate Campaign website, since that is where the list originated.

    I am not that person.

  14. Helene said at 9:48 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

Longtime Observer, the reason for the list on Anna’s site and the list on this site are two different things. Also, when the people on this list are called the question put to them is, Are you supporting Anna Little for senate? At this point no one is being endorsed. So my question remains, why is the list on this post? What’s the point?

  15. Helene said at 9:54 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

    correction
I should of written the question in this manner
Did you endorse Anna Little for senate?

    Sorry about that.
A misplaced word here or there can make a big difference.

  16. Longtime Observer said at 10:16 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

    Helene,
Really not interested in being baited into some kind of bizarre semantic argument with you. Your agenda is ridiculously clear.

I happen to disagree with your interpretation, however I don’t find Ms. Little’s senate aspirations to be interesting enough to argue.

Now quit your fixation, and move on, …or find someone who cares.

  17. Helene said at 10:20 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

Longtime Observer, then why did you respond?

  18. Freespeaker1976 said at 10:57 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

As someone who has done websites and advertising, people do NOT read every word.

They take a fast impression of what they see; and what they see is a whole lot of people supporting Anna.

Few people actually read it to find that the support was in the past. It was accidentally (being nice and given the benefit of the doubt) or intentionally created that way which easily lead a reader to believe that Anna has the support of all of those people for her Senate run.

EITHER way it occurred is disingenuous at best or sleazy at worst.

NOT a good impression to start off with because it is a false impression.

  19. Obviously said at 11:57 pm on December 2nd, 2011:

It was put on her website under”Endorsements” . Why put endosements from the past, having nothing to do with a Senate run? It’s very misleading and that was obviously the intent, in my opinion and the opinion of many, I’m sure. Put a fork in her, she’s done.

  20. Helene said at 10:02 am on December 3rd, 2011:

To all including Art,but not Longtime Observer, lol. Why would you go through the list & ask if they endorsed her? At this point in time no one has endorsed any senate candidate. It may imply that those listed are not going to endorse. Why start critizing Anna? Use your keyboard against Menendez. Just asking.

  21. ArtGallagher said at 10:52 am on December 3rd, 2011:

    Helene,

Your point if a fair one. Yet, as several others have expressed, so is my presentation and question, given Anna’s presentation of the “endorsements.”

If anyone later changes their answer, I’ll update the post.

This issue is not a new one. Anna has a similar presentation of “endorsements” on her 2012 Anna Little for Congress site: http://www.annalittleforcongress.com/Endorsements.html

The congressional site is even more misleading because it doesn’t have the “previous work and runs for office” fine print.

The transgression on the congressional site was brought to my attention several months ago. I didn’t make an issue of it then because I was giving Anna the benefit of the doubt….I considered that she might just have ordered a quick re-dating of the old site without a thorough review of the content. Also, I wanted to avoid Tommy DeSeno’s whining.

The “endorsements” appearance on the Senate site removes any doubt that the deception is intentional.

The reason for criticizing Anna now as opposed to Menendez is two fold:

    1) She is on the verge of doing irreparable harm to her career.

2)The path she is taking will make defeating Menendez, already a difficult endeavor, less likely and more expensive

  22. Helene said at 11:25 am on December 3rd, 2011:

Art, this post is you way of helping Anna. I am just wondering if perhaps you called her or emailed her with your concerns. I am not assuming you didn’t. Thanks for responding Art.

  23. ArtGallagher said at 11:44 am on December 3rd, 2011:

    Helene,

    You’re welcome.

I didn’t say this post was my way of helping Anna. If that is a side effect, good.

I did not call or email Anna. As I said in the previous post, Anna surrounds herself with people who tell her what she wants to hear and burns bridges with people who tell her what she needs to hear.

I stopped trying to rebuild the bridge last December, five months after she burnt it.

If you want to continue this line of questioning, OK. However, if you’re objective is to support Anna by making this about my methods as opposed to hers, you might want to reconsider. The more you peel the onion, the more tears will be shed.

  24. Helene said at 12:17 pm on December 3rd, 2011:

Art, my only objective is to get a handle on this. My attempt to understand has nothing to do with Anna or any other candidate in particular.
I have not spoken to Anna inquite some time, I didn’t even know she was planning to run for senate until I read it here.
Like I said before I am just asking.

  25. Freespeaker1976 said at 2:07 pm on December 3rd, 2011:

    Helene,

To sum it all up, MORE than few people got the same impression of her website and the “supposed” or “seems like” endorsements.

It was cheesy and made people queazy. It’s not the first time she’s done things like this and it certainly won’t be the last. Thus, in my mind; it removes any doubt in my mind that she is qualified for such a candidacy. Too much of a loose cannon, I would say.

As I also say, if it “walks like a duck, and talks like a duck,” it’s a duck. I wouldn’t go so far to say that she’s a quack, but she does too many quirky things.

  26. Newslogan said at 5:41 pm on December 3rd, 2011:

I think Anna should adopt the new slogan by the US Army. An Army of One. That’s about all she’ll be able to muster for Anna’s Army this time..

  27. Justified Right said at 12:22 pm on December 4th, 2011:

Bully. This is MMM being a bully.

By listing those who have not endorsed now, MMM is misleading poeple to believe Anna has said that they have.

No one endorses this far in advance of the election.

Want to be fair MMM? Don’t make the answers “no” because you could do that about any candidate right now.

Instead, make the answer “has not yet endorsed.”

  28. ArtGallagher said at 12:27 pm on December 4th, 2011:

Also, I wanted to avoid Tommy DeSeno’s whining.

Tommy, if your support of Anna lasts more than another 4 hours, call your doctor.

In order to be fair, I will have a like post for any other U.S. Senate candidate who has a similar “Endorsements” page on his/her website.

  29. Freespeaker1976 said at 12:37 pm on December 4th, 2011:

    Tommy,

Get a grip on yourself and get back to reality. This was childish and sleazy of Anna to post this like that. I have not checked the page lately; and considering the comments on this post; I wonder if she has clarified these people’s past comments.

BTW, no post about Neptune’s GREAT win yesterday?

  30. Justified Right said at 1:55 pm on December 4th, 2011:

Art I’m not supporting Anna – I’m supporting journalism.

Anna is certainly allowed to promote past endorsements as past endorsements.

Your column pretends she is claiming current endorsements.

If you are alleging she is factually correct but hoping to be misleading, I’d like your opinion using the same standard on the Republican mailing about Vin Gopel.
