Kyrillos: Parents And Students Shouldn’t Be Forced To Pay For Degenerate Entertainment

By Art Gallaghersnooki-arrested-jersey-shore

Referring to “Snooki” as a “degenerate reality television star who offers neither useful advice nor any appreciable talents,” Senator Joe Kyrillos announced that he was submitting legislation that would all require New Jersey’s public universities to make student activities fees optional.

His legislation comes in response to mandatory student activities fees at Rutgers University being used to fund a $32, 000 speaking fee for Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.
“Students ought not be forced to fund entertainment or events that they find objectionable,” said Kyrillos. “There were a great deal of Rutgers students who I am certain were uninterested or flat out outraged by Ms. Polizzi’s appearance on campus.”

Kyrillos’ announcement quickly made national news when Tommy DeSeno wrote about it on Ricochet.

Polizzi, 23, didn’t tell MoreMonmouthMusings that she was using the $32,000 she picked up for her Rutgers performance as a down payment on a house in Keansburg so that she could seek the Democratic nomination to challenge Kyrillos this fall.

More than 1000 people came to see her…that’s a large audience under any circumstances. Some people need to take the broom out of their arse and lighten up a little…yes Tommy…that goes for you too.

NEWS FLASH….like it or not, she’s an entertainer and gets compensated as such.
    Geeshh….

In this day & age, I would never use high attendance figures as an indication that it was a socially worthwhile program or speaker; too many people love to watch a “train wreck”. After all, look at all the people paying big bucks to watch Charlie Sheen self-distruct in public! I’ve also gone from being a “fan” to a “super fan” of Sen. Joe Kyrillos!

I have a son who attends RU and I have been paying this student activity fee. When the news came out about Snooki appearing there and being paid $32,000 I was appalled.
I sent a e-mail to the President stating I could piss away my own hard earned money and I didn’t need them to do it for me.
I did get a response back saying I probably would not be satisfied with the answer (which I wasn’t) but I am elated that Joe K has picked up the ball…….go get em Joe!
You’re starting to act like John Curley!!!!!!

I agree with Kyrillos and I find it revolting that parents and students are footing the bill for the little waste of space named Snooki. It is the same revulsion I feel when I realize that I’m paying for the so-called town hall meetings put on by Christie. Town hall meetings are designed to hear the views of the public- not to berate citizens that hold opposing views. I hope Mr. Kyrillos will be consistent in opposing the misuse of taxpayer funds in addition to the misuse of student funds.
