It’s the first weekend of Local’s Summer. The crowds are gone, the parking is free and Sea Bright Councilman Charlie Rooney wants you to come to the library on Saturday morning for Church music and breakfast.
Rooney is reprising the Saturday Organ music program he hosted at the Sea Bright Methodist Church/Sea Bright Library last spring.

June 4th is the first Saturday of the month and that means that the organ in the Sea Bright Library/United Methodist Church will once again be making beautiful music, thanks to the efforts of Councilman Charlie Rooney.
When Rooney was working with the Sea Bright United Methodist Church to have them host the borough’s library after Hurricane Sandy, he was struck with the beauty of the chapel and especially the pipe organ that majestically rises behind the altar.
Rooney learned that an organ’s pipes will deteriorate if they are not played, and the church’s organ wasn’t being used much. To preserve organ and enhance the community, Rooney arranges for an organist to play for an hour on the first Saturday of every month.

May 7 is the first Saturday of the month which means the Sea Bright Library will be hosting its monthly organ recital and sing along.
Councilman Charlie Rooney launched the program earlier this year to give the organ pipes a workout and bring the community together to enjoy the library which is housed in the Sea Bright United Methodist Church.
Rooney has arranged for Judy Grimes to play the organ and lead the community in song. Grimes is bringing song books to help the participants sing along.

To preserve organ and enhance the community, Rooney arranges for an organist to play for an hour on the first Saturday of every month. This Saturday, April 2, Jeff Cupp of Ocean Grove will be playing the organ from 11 a.m. till noon.
Rooney said that even though Cupp was an organist at the church during the 70’s and 80’s, that he will be playing more than chruch music this Saturday.
