Missing Keansburg Girl Has Been Found, Condition Not Disclosed

UPDATE: Abbie was found dead in the vicinity of her home this morning. Her death in being investigated as a homicide.

A Monmouth County law enforcement source confirmed that Abbie Smith, the 11 year old Keansburg girl who went missing last night, has been located.  The source would not confirm that she is safe and sound. “All I can tell you is that she has been located and that we are talking to her family,” the source said.

Charles Webster, spokesperson for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said that Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni will be meeting the the press at the Keansburg Police Department sometime after 12:30 this afternoon.

Keansburg Police Searching For Missing 11 Year Old Girl

UPDATE: ABBIE HAS BEEN LOCATED; CONDITION NOT DISCLOSED

The Keansburg Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating Abbiegal “Abbie” Smith, an 11 year old resident of the borough who was last seen in her Hancock Street apartment at about 9:45 last night and was noticed missing at 10:50 p.m.

Marlboro resident, a teacher in Keansburg, is charged with kiddie porn distribution

Marc S. Marinoff, 30, of Pear Drive in Marlboro and a teacher at the Bolger Middle School in Keansburg, was arrested on child pornography charges on Thursday, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

Detectives of the Prosecutor’s Computer Crimes Unit conducted a search of Marinoff’s home and various personal electronic devices were seized. An initial preview forensic examination revealed that Marinoff possessed and distributed videos of child pornography via a peer-to-peer file-sharing program – an online connection of computers allowing the sharing of files directly between the individual users.

Marinoff was charged with one count each of second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Distribution of Child Pornography) and third degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Possession of Child Pornography).  The charges carry penalties of up to 15 years in state prison upon conviction and lifetime parole supervision under Megan’s Law.

Keansburg Mother Charged With Throwing 6 Month Old At Father

The Keansburg Police Department charged Nicole Robbolino. 32, of Briarwood Avenue, with one count of Assault and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child on Tuesday after an investigation revealed that Robbolino threw a child safety seat containing her six month old son at her boyfriend–the father of the child.  The baby suffered a mild head injury.

According to a statement issued by the Police Department, officers where dispatched to the scene for a report that a 5 year old female that had sustained a hot water burn to her face.  The officers learned that the girl bumped into a stove, causing hot water to splash onto her face. She was treated on the scene by officers and Keansburg EMS and transported to Bayshore Hospital.

Keansburg Drug Distribution Ring Busted

Four Keansburg residents were arrested in the borough on Wednesday, December 14 and charged with various narcotic possession and distribution offenses.

The arrests were the result of a month-long investigation by the Keansburg Police Department, the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Narcotics Task Force, according to an announcement by the Keansburg PD.

Keansburg Man Arrested for Arson and Burglary of Borough Home

keansburg-policeEriberto R. Valentin, 55, of Center Avenue in Keansburg was arrested on Sunday and charged with second degree Aggravated Arson and third degree Burglary, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramicconi.

Valentin was found inside 34 Pineview Avenue on Sunday night by the residents upon returning to their home.  Shortly after Valentin fled the residence, a fire appeared inside. Responding Keansburg police officers extinguished the flames. An investigation resulted in Valentin’s arrest a short time later.

Thousands of small fish wash up dead in Keansburg

Hazlet Man Charged With Middletown Bank Robbery

Justin Rafalko, 25, of Sycamore Drive in Hazlet was charged with robbing the TD Bank branch on Harmony Road in Middletown, according to a statement by Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

Rafaldo entered the bank at around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, approached a teller with a note that indicated he was armed and demanding money. He fled the scene on a bicycle.

The Keansburg police apprehended Rafalko later on Saturday along the Henry Hudson Trail.  He was identified via surveillance video.

The investigation was a cooperative effort of the Monmouth County Prosectuor’s Office, the Middletown Police Department, the Hazlet Police Department and the FBI.

“This was a great team effort by all the law enforcement agencies involved to bring this case to a swift conclusion,” said Prosecutor Gramiccioni.

A countywide collaboration with Monmouth County’s government, FEMA, Monmouth University Urban Coast Institute, New Jersey Sea Grant Consortium, National Park Service, Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve at Rutgers University, Navy Weapons Station Earle, New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and Verizon designed to raise the public’s awareness of flood risks and to encourage the mitigation of those risks was launched this morning in Middletown with the installation of a High Water Mark (HWM) sign at the Belford Ferry Terminal.

FEMA and the National Flood Insurance Program’s High Water Mark awareness program gives participating municipalities Community Rating System (CRS) points which result in residents of the community getting a break on their flood insurance premiums.

Municipal participation is voluntary and there is no cost to the towns for participating.
