Menendez Auditions to replace pig in insurance company campaign
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has called on insurance giant GEICO to suspend its advertising campaign featuring Maxwell the Pig on a zip line.
Given the headaches GEICO has had with PETA over its sponsorship of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, and GEICO’s close relationship with New Jersey Democrats, (GEICO lobbyist Eric Shuffer wrote two major speeches, including the State of the State, for Jon Corzine in 2006 and 2007) they are considering replacing Maxwell with U.S. Senator Bob “The Squealer” Menendez.
