Christie joins Kyrillos on campaign trail to smackdown “The Squealer”

Statement of Senator Joe Kyrillos on President Obama’s Proposed 2013 Federal Budget

Bob Menendez and the Senate have failed to pass a budget for more than 1000 days. That is an incredible leadership failure.  What is worse, today’s budget proposes more of the same—more spending, more taxes and more debt.  And while countries like Greece struggle to pass austerity budgets, the White House says that this is no time for austerity. That is insane.

In New Jersey we have proven that hard decisions and tough measures can turn things around. They haven’t learned that lesson in Washington, but it is time they do.

Kyrillos Love Fest

The Abraham Lincoln impersonator played second fiddle to U.S. Senate candidate Joe Kyrillos at the Monmouth County Lincoln Day Dinner last night in Atlantic Highlands.

The annual dinner is named for Lincoln.  Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno was the keynote speaker.  The night belonged to Kyrillos. The name of  Monmouth County’s favorite son who is challenging Bob Menendez for one of New Jersey’s seats in the United States Senate was stuck on most lapels and his photograph was prominently projected on the wall behind the stage.

The Republican faithful who had not already signed Kyrillos’ nominating petitions  at his campaign kickoff were lining up to do so.

The enthusiasm for Kyrillos, who is on the verge of exceeding the required 1000 signatures required to get on the primary ballot stood in stark contrast to the reception that his potential primary opponent, former Highlands Mayor Anna Little, received while working the Lincoln Day crowd.

Working the very same room where she defiantly refused to concede defeat in 2010, but rather declared a 2012 rematch against Congressman Frank Pallone, Little and her manager, Larry Cirigano, struggled to get  signatures on her U.S. Senate nominating petition.   Little resorted to erroneously telling polite Kyrillos supporters that it was OK to sign more than one nominating petition for the same race.

Any signatures that appear on more than one nominating petition will be invalidated should the petitions be challenged.

Little received polite applause during the ritual roll call acknowledgement of present and former elected officials.  Kyrillos received a standing ovation during his introduction of Guadagno.

Preview Of Mendendez Campaign?

U.S. Senator Bob Mendendez tweeted a video of himself zip-lining indoors with the Task Force One Urban Search and Rescue Team.

Menedez said the zip was a success.

Was it?  I saw a man who started on top, declined quickly and squealed like a baby before landing on his ass.

Kyrillos Urges Obama To Halt Attack On Religious Freedom

“Bob Menendez’s silence is deafening”

Middletown – February 9  Today, New Jersey State Senator Joe Kyrillos urged the Obama Administration to halt its attack on religious freedom and the right for Catholic hospitals to operate without government mandates.

“This is a shocking assault on the religious freedom upon which this nation was built,” said Senator Kyrillos.

“Bob Menendez’s silence is deafening. He loudly supported Obama Care and has remained silent in the face of this attack on religious liberty. The Obama/Menendez mandate is an affront not just to one particular faith, but to all Americans who seek to practice their faiths free from government intrusion.”

Kyrillos said, “President Obama has been systematically trampling upon Americans’ basic personal freedoms since his first day in office.  Now he is after our religious freedom and I strongly urge him to reverse course.  It is sad and unfortunate that, even as many Democrats have spoken out against this provision, Senator Menendez has stood by Obama’s side while the religious freedom of the people of New Jersey is under siege.”

“Freedom of religion is one of our nation’s most basic First Principles and unlike Senator Menendez, I cannot sit idly by while President Obama dismantles our Constitution one freedom at a time.”

Statement From Joe Kyrillos

Our country is in trouble and Washington is failing us.  Americans have seen their neighbors lose their jobs, their home values fall, their savings shrink, and their economic horizon darkened by a record $15 trillion national debt.  Washington has responded with nothing but partisan squabbling and reckless spending, and now Bob Menendez is seeking reelection to deliver more of the same.

New Jersey needs a strong voice for change.  As the father of two young children, I believe we can and must restore the limitless opportunities and freedom that made America great and inspired people like my own father to immigrate to this country.  That’s why today I converted my exploratory effort into a campaign committee and will soon formally announce my candidacy for the United States Senate.

We have proven in New Jersey that strong leadership can change things for the better.  Under Governor Christie’s leadership and with the support of fiscal conservatives like myself, we took a state that had been mismanaged to the brink of bankruptcy, and we turned it around.  I intend to do the same in Washington.  Voters have a clear contrast – Bob Menendez will offer more of the same: more debt, more spending and more joblessness.  I will offer real solutions to renew America’s promise.
