Monmouth COVID-19 cases rise to 207

Monmouth County Freeholder Director Tom Arnone

The Monmouth County Health Department reports that there are 207 positive cases of COVID-19 in the County, Freeholder Director Tom Arnone and Deputy Director Sue Kiley announced this evening.

“As we see these numbers climb, while anticipated, it reminds us why social distancing is so important,” said Freeholder Director Thomas A. Arnone. “It is critical for everyone to practice social distancing so that we can slow the spread.”

N.J. coronavirus outbreak surges to 2,844 cases with 27 deaths. Gov. Murphy announces 935 new positive tests.

New Jersey now has at least 2,844 coronavirus cases with 27 deaths as officials announced Monday 935 new positive tests on the same day the second state-run testing site opened in Monmouth County and quickly hit capacity due to overwhelming demand.

“There’s clearly community spread going on,” Gov. Phil Murphy said at a news briefing in Trenton Monday. “There’s also a lot more testing going on. As the testing regime expands, we’re going to see these numbers go up in a big way. We are getting a clearer and better sense of how far the coronavirus has already spread.”

Middletown reports 18 COVID-19 cases

Restricted Access to Municipal Facilities Extended Through April 5th

The Middletown Department of Health and Social Services reports a total of 18 COVID-19 cases, including a resident of Luftman Towers, an apartment building for seniors in Lincroft. Direct contact persons, organizations and workplaces will be notified by health officials as they receive information from the patients. To date, the Health Department has received 53 negative cases from laboratory reports.

PNC Arts Center Testing Site Opens Today

The much anticipated COVID-19 testing site at the PNC Arts Center is opening today, Monday, March 23 at 8 a.m.  The Arts Center is located a mile 116 on the Garden State Parkway.

The center will be open seven days per week until daily supplies last, Governor Phil Murphy announced. Gates will open at 8 a.m. Individuals will not be permitted to line up along the Garden State Parkway. The PNC commuter parking lot will be closed. Read the rest of this entry »

Monmouth County has 156 COVID-19 cases, Golf courses closed

May 12 Municipal Elections Will Be Vote By Mail Only

The municipal elections in Allenhurst, Deal, Keansburg and Loch Arbour will be conducted via Vote-By-Mail ballots only, Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon announced on Friday afternoon.

Governor Phil Murphy signed an executive order on Thursday mandating that May 12 elections be held via mail to mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19.

Clerk Hanlon is notifying voters in these four municipalities that due to this unprecedented situation, every registered voter will automatically receive a mail-in ballot, by law, and will not need to fill out an application.
