Senator Declan O’Scanlon and Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso (R-Monmouth) today welcomed the news that Governor Phil Murphy is allowing New Jersey restaurants to reopen indoor dining starting this weekend, but criticized the Governor’s delay and his 25% capacity limitation.
Legislation sponsored by State Senator Vin Gopal that will require nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other long term care facilities to implement policies to prevent social isolation among their residents passed in the New Jersey Senate today, 39-0.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy dined outdoors at Nicholas Barrel and Roost in Middletown last evening while the indoor Barrel Room was packed with knuckleheads.
Murphy, who seemed aware of my presence, wore a mask at his outdoor table while those dining in the crowded Barrel Room were maskless.
Jason Berry, 40, of Keansburg stands accused of sexually exploiting a 14-year-old girl he met on social media, manipulating her into sending him naked pictures of herself engaging in sexual acts. He allegedly had the girl carve his initials into her legs. Berry then sent the photos to the girl’s mother, according to an announcement by NJ Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal.
Two Asbury Park Police Officers admitted that they vandalized vehicles in retaliation for a citizen’s internal affairs complaint, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced today.
Asbury Park Police Officer Stephen Martinsen, 31, and former SLEO-2 Thomas Dowling, 27, both of Asbury Park, entered guilty pleas virtually today to fourth-degree Criminal Mischief before Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Vincent N. Falcetano, Jr.
Cory R. Cole, 49, of Brielle, a former Ocean Township Police Officer, was charged with multiple counts of Theft by Deception and Forgery, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced this morning.
Cole previously, in January, charged with Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property Received and two counts of fourth-degree Forgery. He resigned from the OTPD after the initial charges were filed against him.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Asbury Park Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating the shooter of a 4 year old girl.
At approximately 1:35 p.m. on
Tuesday, August 18, 2020, a 4-year-old child was shot while sitting outside the
family’s home on Boston Way. The child was shot in the upper thigh area,
breaking the femur bone. The injury is deemed serious, but non-life
threatening.
Middletown Mayor Tony Perry sent off a scathing letter to Alice M. Greenwald, President of the 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York City, condemning the decision to not light the Twin Beams Tribute to the victims and heroes of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the United States of America. Perry offered to host the tribute in Middletown.
Thirty-seven residents of Middletown died in the World Trade Center on 9/11.
