Elijah “Streets” Graham, 27, of Fairview, North Carolina was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder this morning for a shooting that occurred in Asbury Park last night, according to a statement from Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.
Asbury Park police responded to a 911 call at 10:01 p.m. Monday night on the report of shots fired in the 1500 block of Summerfield Avenue. After police arrived on the scene, the victim, a 24-year-old Neptune Township man, was located at 1311 Washington Avenue with a single gunshot wound to his back. He was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune Township, where he was treated and released.
Investigators from Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Asbury Park Police Department determined the victim was shot inside a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu parked along Summerfield Avenue.

FREEHOLD, NJ – Monmouth County 4-H goat club members Nicole Cary and Rebecca Carmeli-Peslak, of Millstone, will represent Monmouth County at the New Jersey State 4-H Goat Show on Aug. 20 at the Hunterdon County 4-H and Agricultural Fairgrounds in Ringoes.
The Monmouth Livestock Club 4-H members will join nearly fifty New Jersey 4-H members and exhibiting 137 goats in Meat Goat, Dairy Goat, Fiber Goat and Showmanship Classes.

(FREEHOLD) Investigators are closing in on the person responsible for the brutal 2009 murder of Jonelle Melton, a beloved Red Bank teacher who was found beaten to death inside her West Sylvania Avenue apartment. Monmouth County CrimeStoppers wants to make sure the public is aware a chance still remains for anyone with information about the case to come forward and possibly collect the $10,000 in reward money being offered, announced Kevin J. Burke, Jr., Chairman of CrimeStoppers of Monmouth County.

Choosing political ambition over transparency, Gov. Chris Christie plans to appeal a Superior Court decision that ordered him to reveal a key cog in his taxpayer-funded publicity machine – a multi-tiered, high-tech list of 2,500 media contacts.
In court papers, deputy attorney general Daniel M. Vannella asked Judge Mary C. Jacobson to grant a stay pending appeal, claiming release of the record would cause the governor “irreparable harm.”
Jacobson had ordered the governor’s office to provide New Jersey Watchdog with a copy of the list by Monday and pay for its attorneys fees.

After a successful debut in Howell last week, Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon, Sheriff Shaun Golden and Surrogate Rosemarie Peters are bringing the Mobile County Connection to the Middletown Library on Tuesday from 10 am till 1 p.m.
