Monmouth Tea Party Gathering Signatures For Third Party U.S. Senate Candidate

Monmouth Tea Party Coalition President Frank Cotton announced via email tonight that he has collected 42 petition signatures for the U. S. Senate candidacy of potential Constitution Party candidate Marilynn English.  Cotton asked that 50 people of his group step up t0 collect 30 signatures each.

English, of Verona in Essex County, is a licensed mortage banker.  She was formerly employed by JP Morgan as an Assistant Vice President in the Mergers and Acquisitions.

English told MMM that she was approached by leaders of the Constitution Party to run for U.S. Senate two weeks ago.  To her knowledge she has 100 signatures. 800 valid signatures are required for an third party candidate to get onto the general election ballot.  Petitions are due with the Secretary of State on Tuesday, June 5 at 4PM.

She ran for Essex County Executive in 2010 as an Independent Democrat and for Essex County Freeholder at Large in 2011, also as an Independent Democrat.

English is a member of the Verona Rent Control Board and a former member of Verona’s Budget Review Committee.

    So let me get this straight, Cotton who is a failed Sheriff candidate (that backed out of the race and supported Golden a Republican), runs the Monmouth County Tea Party, NJ Conservatives and who knows what other groups (probably made up of all the same 10 members) and endorses (so called conservative) candidates with all those groups, is now collecting signatures to get a Democrat on the ballot as third party? What did this guy hit his head on? Where do these people come from? Besides straight jackets they need tin foil hats!

    She’s on her way now. The next natural step after this one would be to gain the endorsement of the various units at Trenton Psychiatric. Maybe they can get some volunteers from the Adolescent Unit at Carrier.

    Isn’t Cottone from Middlesex County? Why would he support Golden? Do you think if he knew about the below he would have supported Golden?? Me thinks Golden is in for a fight for his political life next election.

    Cotton is from Monmouth, hence the Monmouth County Tea Party. It would be simple for you to call the Monmouth County Clerk and ask if Cotton turned in a petition in 2010 to run for Sheriff. Then you will have your proof.

    It just seems like wasting votes; Marilyn English got 3% of the votes for Essex County Executive in 2010, and less than 1% of the votes for Freeholder at Large in 2011.

    Hey Tea Party – what the hell are you doing? You’re acting more like the THC Party.That’s the only explanation for such craziness. You are making a laughingstock of the movement. Get real will you – the Republican Party is your only hope. Third parties will never be successful, and you will only further entrench the liberal Democrats. You can pat yourself on the back and crow about how principled you are, but in the end, you will just be accomplices to the destruction of the country you purport to love so much.
