NJ Division of Elections transferring voters calls to 83 year old widow’s home phone

By Art Gallagher

UPDATE 10/14/20: The NJ Division of Elections has corrected the issue and Maryanne is no longer getting calls.

Maryanne, an 83 year old widow who lives in Freehold, is getting about 45 phone calls a day on her home phone from Monmouth County voters calling to see if their ballots have been received by the Board of Elections.

The voters did not call the wrong number.

If you visit the New Jersey Division of Elections website, there is a Voter Information and Assistance line, 877-NJ-VOTER. The number is also promoted by many government and public interest websites.

Call the number and follow the prompts for Monmouth County residents to verify the receipt of their provisional or absentee ballot and you will hear this message from Maryann:

Maryanne’s home phone voicemail greeting

Maryanne, who asked me not to publish her last name, said she has been getting these calls since June. After the July 7 primary they died down, she said. They have coming in at a pace of 45-50 per day in the last week or so since paper ballots have been mailed.

Maryanne’s phone number is one digit different than the Monmouth County Board of Elections’ phone number, 732-431-7802.

She is extremely gracious and classy about the burden the State has put on her. She said some people don’t listen to her message and leave their name and phone number asking for a call back with information about their ballot. Some leave messages expressing their exasperation. One caller said, “You poor dear.”

When I reached Maryanne this afternoon her message announced her phone number and the Board of Elections phone number. I suggested she re-record the message without her phone number and announce that Governor Knucklehead Murphy misdirected the call. She laughed and said she wouldn’t do that but would make a new recording without her phone number in it.

If you’re a Monmouth County voter and want to call to verify that you ballot has been received, don’t call 877-NJ-VOTER. Call 732-431-7802.

I’m sure it’s just another attempt by a Republican leader to disrupt the process and put doubt into the minds of voters.

NJ is a deep blue sea, Dems are the shot callers here, the process has been disrupted w/the mail in voting scam.

How odd that this story appears literally nowhere else on the Internet or any other media except on this page.

Could that be because it’s simply made up?
