Earthquake Shakes NJ

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake occurred near Freehold, NJ at about 2 am on September 9, 2020, according to USGS.

The event is considered minor. Property damage and injuries are not expected.

The epicenter is reported to be near the corner of Kozloski Rd and Burlington Rd, south of Colts Neck road in Freehold.

    You call that an earthquake? I didn’t know the Richter Scale went that low! The house I grew up in shook ALL THE TIME! I almost slept through the ’94 Northridge Quake (55 people died!) and the only reason I got out of bed was to answer the phone – it was my mother calling me from NJ to see if I was okay!
