Republicans Continue Golden Age Dominance In Monmouth County

COLTS NECK, NJ – With huge wins at the County level and 3 legislative districts, the Monmouth County Republican Committee had a decisively strong election night! At the top of the County ticket, Sheriff Shaun Golden won by over a 20 point margin. The GOP County freeholder candidates Tom Arnone and Nick DiRocco dominated as well.

On the local level, the GOP took control in Neptune City, Eatontown, and Atlantic Highlands, and flipped Mayoral seats to GOP in Sea Bright and Spring Lake Heights. The Republicans beat back challenges in Belmar, Hazlet and Shrewsbury Borough, and crushed the anti-law enforcement Democrats in Middletown, the largest municipality in the County, with a 2 to 1 margin.

In all, the GOP won 64 seats, sweeping in Wall, Manalapan, Freehold Township, and going unchallenged in Union Beach, Millstone, Rumson, Brielle, Little Silver, Interlaken, Sea Girt, Englishtown, West Long Branch, Upper Freehold Township, Colts Neck, Little Silver, Rumson, and Sea Girt.

Ha! As is Golden really was the reason for the win. Give me a break. Nice guy but any number of others could be chair and have pulled off this win (and then some).

Awaits the GOAT Chair in the near future.

NJ’s never gonna wake up, at this point..maybe it’s time to seriously take out Pallone. (even if you don’t live in the district, you can move when you win.).. since Frank will never retire, it is way pat time: we need a strong conservative vote-getter to finally make a difference for NJ. Let’s see what they do to us again in the re- districting, then set your sights on the DC Dome!

  5. We just said at 1:15 pm on November 8th, 2019:

had a Republican serve two terms as Governor. Sky isn’t falling, let’s keep things in perspective…

  6. Yup. said at 3:30 pm on November 8th, 2019:

And what a mess he wrought: he literally gave us Booker, likely forever, killed the state party with his traveling and presidential ambitions,(Chairman Doug is doing a good job trying to build it back up,) embarrassed us with Bridgegate, and totally failed to move over and support his qualified, loyal, and deserving Lt Gov, giving us the new Murphy- Mess, and one of the lowest percentages of Republicans, in the Legislature, in modern history. I hope you are young enough to stay and wait, here: most of us middle- aged folks considering abandoning this expensive, depressing state, probably won’t see another Red state, in NJ ..we try, we work, give money, etc., but it is very tough!

  7. @Yup said at 8:03 pm on November 8th, 2019:

And handed Atlantic City over to the South Jersey Dem machine on a silver platter.

  8. Sadly so.. said at 4:41 pm on November 9th, 2019:

will take us years to recover. If you are a praying person, join me and pray our President does not hire that guy- it just always obnoxiously becomes about him. He’s brash like the Pres, but without the humor, class, and great smile!! Would be a big mistake..

  9. Absolutely said at 6:28 pm on November 10th, 2019:

We need a true moderate like Shaun, he’d be perfect candidate. No boat rocking, no surprises, no hidden agendas. Just some nice lite conservatism.

  10. Monmouth Girl said at 8:50 am on November 11th, 2019:

Taking out Pallone would be tough. You need a ton of money. But we do have a group of experienced officials that should take a shot. I would be interested in everyone’s thoughts on the following list:

    Former Senator Joe Kyrillos
    Senator Declan O’Scanlon
    Assemblywoman Serena Di Maso
    Assemblyman Rob Clifton
    Assemblyman-elect Gerry Scharfenberger
    Mayor Owen Henry, Old Bridge
    Mayor Tony Fiore, Middletown

  11. a. mazza said at 7:15 pm on November 11th, 2019:

You want comments on these people to challenge Pallone? Seriously? All very nice people. Ethical. Smart. They check all the boxes…but one. They can’t win. You need a FIGHTER and a bulldog that can take on Pallone. The people above have NEVER had a tough campaign. Have never had to really duke it out. IF we are to beat Pallone we need someone who is battle tested for real, can take it to Pallone, raise money and is not the same-old candidate our of central casting.

  12. Agreed. said at 9:42 pm on November 11th, 2019:

Money is always an issue, and it’s a bad, loaded district, who knows how bad it will be after the next re- districting- but maybe increased targeted social media could help. Would like to see Shaun dig in, and go after that guy’s record of nothingness-( except raising taxes and moving farther left.) Would not hurt his future to try, the timing is ok.

  13. Whomever said at 10:18 pm on November 11th, 2019:

gets the nod, they need to hire Gerry’s son as campaign manager. As we’ve seen, he will definitely pull out all the stops to make sure his candidate has every advantage!

  14. Monmouth Girl said at 8:34 am on November 12th, 2019:

    A. Mazza I agree but who then? But in there defense some of these folks have had tough races. Owen Henry has had three tough elections in Old Bridge against Pallone backed (and financed) candidates. Clifton had a brutal freeholder race against Flippy Dimico. The Middletown crew always win big but always seem to have to run against really nasty dems.

  15. Best choice said at 9:07 am on November 12th, 2019:

is Golden. Would pay to go to that debate. It’s kind of like the difference between our President and the do- nothing Dems that so far are taking him on: years of measurable successes vs never creating a job, or getting anything meaningful done for working taxpayers. Give it some serious thought, Shaun. Talk to the RNCC and RNC, and get them to prioritize that race, along with Chris Smith, our only remaining Republican in Congress. With several more wimpy Reps retiring next year, we need a fighter to win back that seat, to try and take back the majority, and say “buhbye” to antsy-Nancy!

  16. Shaun said at 10:38 am on November 12th, 2019:

Is the definition of a moderate Republican, which is what you need to win in this state. However, I don’t think the relative anonymity in Congress would appeal to him. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t run for Governor.

  17. Very tough, to be new, statewide: said at 8:53 pm on November 12th, 2019:

I shake in my boots, thinking of the awful pluralities of the northern counties! He could make big waves in Congress, and then think about Senate, where we really need to dump the two embarrassing ones we have! Plus, it totally sucks to sit in the back row of the overwhelmingly Dem NJ legislature: drive in, vote no, go home- ugh! To be a Gov with that ongoing nonsense, why bother?

  18. Do you said at 10:03 am on November 13th, 2019:

know Shaun? Not like have you shaken his hand at a ribbon cutting ceremony, do you actually know him? He has a large ego. By no means is that a knock, it has served him well and gotten him to where he is today. It’s a non issue anyway, he has already made his mind up and will run for Governor, likely an early 2020 announcement. If he happens to win and that goes well, who knows where it could lead…

  19. We all said at 10:47 am on November 13th, 2019:

are entitled to our opinions. I know Shaun and his personality quite well, which is why I think his beating Pallone would make him a national hero. I just think this NJ electorate is too uninformed to turn out any Dem next go- round, including Murph the Smurf.. several people, including VP Pence, have served in Congress, and governor- and there he is right now, as VP.. we’ll see..would hope good internal polling and lining up of big contributions will be employed by Shaun in any decision- will be very tough to break the stranglehold of Dem debacles, anywhere. Look at some of the No Jersey district results: 80, 90, 100% Dem votes?? Why file anyone?..it makes no sense, but we are rapidly becoming California east, so any higher run is frought with landmines…

  20. Monmouth Girl said at 4:54 pm on November 13th, 2019:

I agree Golden isn’t going to run against Pallone. So where does that leave us?

  21. With said at 4:15 pm on November 14th, 2019:

the p- poor status quo: Pallone in forever, and Murph getting re- elected…and, NJ in further decline.

  22. You can said at 5:10 pm on November 14th, 2019:

say piss, it’s cool, we’re all adults.

  23. Good to know, said at 10:38 pm on November 14th, 2019:

but if all were, you would have added more than that to this discussion: congress or governor run for Shaun??
