Pallone Embraces Green New Deal

Congressman Frank Pallone, Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, has embraced the Green New Deal promoted by freshman Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.  Pallone’s “100% clean economy” with net-zero carbon emissions is “aggressively” targeted to be achieved by 2050, twenty years following the end of AOC’s world.

With a nod to The Squad, Pallone and six other Democrats on his committee held a press conference in Washington on Tuesday in an effort to convince the world that 2050 is the point of no return from climate change, not 2030, as AOC insists.

“What we’re really trying to do here is come up with a united front,” Pallone said, according to PoliticoPro. “The ideas that come from the Green New Deal — and from those who’ve been outspoken on the Green New Deal — we certainly want to hear.”

“This is an ambitious goal, I don’t want to suggest that it isn’t, and there are a lot of different ways of dealing with it,” according to The Hill.

Pallone and his committee say they will hold hearings with labor, business and environmental groups.  They want to have a plan that all Democrats can get behind by the end of this year.

we can always count on good old Flatfoot to glom onto whatever the liberal buzzword/ issue of the day is- while showing absolutely no leadership , one way or another. A pathetic, decades- long waste of a representative: one would think the district would get past the name ID and finally retire him back to Long Branch, where he could maybe handle recycling for his brother the mayor, or something! Accept mediocrity, get little for your money, and/ or always, higher taxes..

Pallone is a dope. But what does that make the people that keep electing him? He is a politician, not a public servant. He has proven he likes photo ops better than he likes constituents. I’ve seen him show up for photo ops after Sandy to be in pictures with volunteer emergency services, and then refuse to return phone calls asking his office for information and assistance.
