Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr and his wife signed mortgage documents and affidavits in 2016, and again this year, in which they represented that the home they have owned in the Glover Park section of Washington, DC since 1992 is their primary residence, according to District of Columbia property records.
Glover Park is a neighborhood in the Northwest section of the capitol that is home to several embassies. The Pallone residence is .6 of a mile from the U.S. Naval Observatory (Vice President’s residence) and .3 of a mile from the Russian Embassy. The home, situated across the street from a park, is valued at $880,000, according to zillow and trulia.
The Pallones also own a home in Long Branch, NJ, since 1996, according to the Monmouth County Clerk’s website. The congressman also co-owns four properties in Long Branch with his brother John, the mayor of the City.
The Pallones and their children are registered to vote in Long Branch. They have two cars registered at their Long Branch address. The kids’ social media profiles indicate that they live in Washington and received their primary educations there.
First elected to the House of Representatives 30 years ago, Pallone is now seeking his 16th term in Washington. Unlike his mortgage documents, the congressman’s official biography says he resides in Long Branch, which by law, he must in order to represent the district.

no one in his district seems to care. He has always met their low expectations, and taste, with his typical lib drivel and platitudes, every two years, and non- action, other than more taxes/ socialism, which seems good enough, for anywhere between some 53- 68 per cent of his district’s voters, depending on the year, no matter how hard any of his opponents tried. Yet another example of the hypocrisy of the left:” do what I say, not what I do..”

Chris Smith (rep dist 4) doesn’t live in NJ either. He keeps a residence here but is physically in the state of NJ such a small fraction of the time. His time spent in NJ has decreased year after year. Regardless of political affiliation, it’s not right. Our two party system and the state of politics is a joke right now.

If members of congress don’t have to live in the district they represent, is there currently any in NJ that don’t live, or even pretend to live, in the district they represent? I remember when Diane Gooch ran for congress, she didn’t live in district 6 but she didn’t try to hide it… does anyone know where info like this could be found?
let’s face it: unless you want to spend a lot of time in traffic, or on unreliable trains or planes, (depending on your state,) nearly every congressperson has to have someplace to live, while in Congress. The married ones (probably, mostly,) want to remain so, and their kids need to get educated somewhere. I really think quibbling about exactly how many days they spend in their district address, versus how much they stay in DC, is beside the point: how do they vote on critically important issues that affect my life, how much ( more) do they cost us, what are their moral governing beliefs and principles, and, do they deserve to continue in that office? ( These concerns are in addition to the dopey thing that is now harped on, about how many “ town halls” they may or may not hold!) What matters is performance in office, period. ( or, in the cases of Pallone and Menendez, the lack thereof!) These are what need to be in our minds, on Election Day!
