Accused Long Branch shooter named

Miguel Leal Câmara, 40, was the man arrested in connection with the shooting death that occurred yesterday afternoon on Broadway in Long Branch, according to a facebook announcement by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

The victim’s name has not yet been released by the Prosecutor.

A Long Branch resident, Câmara was charged with Murder, Unlawful Firearm Possession, Unlawful Possession of a Hand Gun, Disarming a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest with physical force against a law enforcement officer or another, a well as Criminal Contempt and Violating a Court Order, according to the list of charges on the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office’s Inmate Search.

Câmara’s first Court appearance is schedule for 1:30 this afternoon in Superior Court, Freehold.
