Marlboro Amends Its Parking Ordinance
Marlboro Mayor Jonathan Hornik announced today that the Township has amended its parking ordinance to accommodate residents traveling to New York City on evenings and weekends.
Parking is now free of charge from the hours of 6:30 p.m. till 4:30 a.m Monday through Friday and throughout the weekends at the Union Hill Commuter Park and Ride, the lot at Cambridge Square and the spots marked “commuter spaces” at Costco/Texas Road.
Parking permits issued by the Township Clerk are required at the three lots Monday through Friday from 4:30 a.m and 6:30 p.m. Prior to the amendment that was passed on May 17 and became effective today, permits were required at all times for cars parked in the lots.
The lot at the Union Hill Recreation Park is not included in this amendment. A $3 per day fee applies at all times.
“This Ordinance ensures that those who purchase permits for commuting to work are ensured a place to park, while allowing access to the residents
who travel to the city during off-peak times,” Mayor Hornik said, “Additionally, rather than utilizing the pay-per-day lot at a daily fee, residents are now able to park their car free of charge at a lot closest to the bus stop for evening and weekend trips.”
