Asbury Park Police Officer Busted For Putting His Sister On His Heath Insurance
Alix Antoine, 36, an Asbury Park Police Officer, was arrested on Monday and charged with second degree Official Misconduct, Conspiracy to Commit Official Misconduct, Insurance Fraud and third degree Tampering with Public Records. Antoine’s sister, Patricia Louis, a/k/a Patricia Antoine, 43, of Clifton, was charged with one count each of second degree Conspiracy to Commit Official Misconduct and Insurance Fraud.
According to a statement by Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni, Antoine filed documents in connection with his employment as a police officer enabling Patricia to obtain medical benefits she was not entitled to receive.
Alix’s arrest was first reported by the Asbury Park Press on Monday. He is being held at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution on $150,000 bail with no 10 percent option, as set by Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Francis J. Vernoia. Vernoia additionally ordered that he surrender his passport and all firearms.
Patricia was released on her own recognizance and order to surrender her passport.
It has not been reported if Patricia has a health condition which motivated the alleged crime.
If convicted on all charges, Alix faces a possible 25 years in state prison. Patricia faces 20 years in state prison with free heath care.
