Thank you Senator Beck. The other thing I found troubling (besides the fact that the information was not shared with local residents of the Fort Monmouth host towns) was the fact that the AG’s office (representing both involved parties…the State of NJ and FMERA) apparently said an MOU on the rental/use of the property would suffice rather than a lease which would have had to have been voted upon by the FMERA Board and made public. At the very least, that was a bad precedent to set. Next time there is a dispute with the State, FMERA should hire an outside non conflicted attorney in order to best be able to represent/protect the interests of residents of surrounding towns.
This whole scheme is a sleazy mess. Thanks Obama.
