DiSomma: Squash Zipprich DUI Video

Sean DiSomma

Sean DiSomma

Sean DiSomma, the Chairman of the Red Bank Republicans and a candidate for Council in the upcoming election has requested that MMM not to publish the video of Councilman Ed Zipprich’s arrest for Driving Under the Influence and not to release it to any other publications.  Zipprich is one of DiSomma’s opponents in the election.

“Linda (Schwabenbauer, DiSomma’s running mate) and I decided to run our campaign on the issues…making Red Bank’s government more affordable,” said DiSomma, “Zipprich’s allegation that we are responsible for the release of the video to the Asbury Park Press is baseless.  Mr. Zipprich says he’s working every day to be a better person.  I hope that is true and that he retracts the allegation.”

“Last year the Democrats went into the gutter with false allegations against me,” DiSomma continued, referring to Demcratic County Chairman Vin Gopal’s false allegation last October that there was a warrant out for his arrest in Texas for an unpaid speeding ticket, “two wrongs don’t make a right.  If this campaign is on the issues, we win.”

MMM downloaded the 30 minute video from YouTube a few weeks ago.  The video was posted by an anonymous YouTube user.  The arrest occurred on December 10, 2011 as Zipprich was attempting to enter the Garden State Parkway, the wrong way, at exit 143B.

Zipprich has yet to respond to a request for comment.

MMM is granting DiSomma’s request, for now.  We reserve the right to publish or release the video if, in our judgement, it becomes newsworthy or relevant to the campaign. For now, it would only be click bating.

    BRAVO!

Monmouth County and this country need more people like Mr. DiSomma in political office.

Discussing real issues and solutions to problems are sorely needed; Liberals must understand that cries of “racism”, “war on women” and other nonsense solves nothing and only deepens the mistrust most have of government.

Perhaps “GOP Al” will learn to stop with mud slinging and false accusations, although I doubt that very much.

In reality the politics of character assassination and personal destruction must end if we ever hope to resolve critical problems facing everyone of every political party and faction.

Yes, I too applaud Sean for wanting to stick to the issues. However, isn’t character an issue?

If someone can not abide by the laws, drink and drive; are they the kind of role models we want in government? I propose not.

BTW, I may have missed something, but what are those false accusations by GOP Al?

    @Tom Stokes

Vin GOP Al issued them at Mr. DiSomma the last cycle last year.

Dang I was slow on that one.

    Thanks

Good for you Sean. If people are paying attention, you’ll beat him on the issues and his “record. ” No matter what you’ll have done something to improve the political climate. So glad you’re our municipal chair.

  6. More Damaging Video on the Way?? said at 7:07 am on October 14th, 2014:

In roughly 7 weeks, more video will be on display. Video that Sheriff/County Republican Chair, Shaun Golden does not want you to see! So much for leadership and transparency from that office. Where’s John Bennett when you need him? Oh yeah, he was the victim of a Coup D’etat!

Nothing but distracting from the story. But I guess some Bennett supporters, er hacks; will never give up despite the fact that he was soundly voted out of office.

I guess that’s not enough for a hack like you to realize Bennett was not liked, and was basically an absentee chair. Trust me, I know about the latter.

As to your “issue,” we’ll wait for the facts of the case to come out before making a decision.

This is for show, according to Ed neither Reb. showed up to a council meeting all year. Sean has not shown up since he lost.
If they care why did they not show up to debate any of the issues. They just showed up to the last meeting- 1 meeting.
look at there attendance if they care show up. this plan of taking the high road is just political drama.

at least two sides/ opinions to every story! Is it not way past time for beating those who supported Bennett to death? They had as much right to their opinion and vote as the Sean/ Chris kabal did.. And, when they reach $700 grand he raised in 2 years, we’ll see how successful it all has been.. as for Sean and Linda- perhaps they have been out door to door, going to town events, actually listening to their residents’ concerns, the major one of which is the lack of affordability to keep living in Red Bank, and paying those outrageous taxes and water/ sewer rates. – which is certainly a better use of their time: with any luck/ mental light bulbs finally going off, perhaps the Boro will choose the new people this time!!

  10. @ There's always said at 12:46 pm on October 14th, 2014:

Hey, I didn’t hijack the thread with smarmy comments from someone desperate to hang on to the Bennett days.

Maybe that’s the person that needs to move on and stop beating up on the winner, wouldn’t you think?

    @ for show

As to Sean & Linda not being at the council meetings, I agree with @ There’s Always on this point. For someone considering running in the future, immersing one’s self in such things as town meetings is needed. But it is not a place to “debate.” You are often limited to 3-5 minutes of comment; once.

    You do know that, right?

Besides, it’s easy to read minutes on line. Better to be actually talking to voters this time of the year.

you are deluded by your own opinion: it was you who called Bennett supporters “hacks,” which is more than “smarmy!” You don’t even realize what you are saying and what you start- all we did was point out facts: Bennett people had just as much right to their vote as you. Bennett did raise a lot of money, and when your gang gets there, good for them! You don’t even know how to be a gracious, inclusive winner! Many believe it was Bennett’s desire to bring everyone in and leave certain people in positions he didn’t have to, which led to the loss, and which, by the way, was small in proportion to the number of cast votes that day. It’d be real refreshing if YOU showed some class and stopped with the always gloating and nasty comments,in the first place!

  12. @ Once Again. said at 5:08 pm on October 14th, 2014:

Again, I did not bring the.party divisiveness to this thread. There was no place for such as brought by “More damage.”

The time for that stuff is long over and needs to be shut down in the interest of winning the upcoming election. And I call them as I see them. The person that made the comment is indeed a hack

    So, “WHATEVER. “

  13. @Once Again said at 6:41 pm on October 14th, 2014:

Don’t worry, “party unity” will bring landslide victories to Monmouth County yet again–or will it?

Like it was previously mentioned, Shaun Golden has lots to worry about. The tape is extremely damaging, and it will make one wonder why he has done little about this event, and why the Freeholders did not call for an investigation. Perhaps it should be referred to as GOLDENGATE!

Remember, when it comes to videos, what comes around will go around.

Approximately 7 weeks this should be out! The reverberations will be heard in Washington DC!

  14. While some of you said at 7:32 pm on October 14th, 2014:

continue to preen in your own mirrors, and continue to deride and disrespect “fellow Republicans,” the other side is laying low and doing doors and signs( have you seen the new ones attacking Chris Smith’s “war on women,” like the miserable national and New York Dems are spewing?- the guy has done more to save and protect women and girls from international abduction and abuse than any sitting congressperson)- and, is busy turning in more absentees, and planning more negative attacks on our freeholders. The job number ONE of the June” winners” is to hold 2 freeholder seats this year, and produce good GOP pluralities,up and down ballot- supporters and hacks alike are watching you closely, and are counting on the leaders and great minds to get it all done well, in the coming 21 short days- letting up on fellow Republicans you may dislike/ disagree with, will free up much more time to concentrate harder on the job at hand you were elected to do, so, please, go to it!

  15. Jim Granelli said at 8:12 pm on October 14th, 2014:

@Once Again & your stupid little hidden messages about video tapes and tin foil hat conspiracy theories…

If you think you can play your little games here and try and divide Republicans, go away. Besides, if you are going to attack someone personally, have some cohones to put your name behind it. Otherwise, we should have no respect for you; nor should we listen to someone hiding behind a computer screen.

Monmouth County voters do not want unqualified people like Grillo & Luttrell.
